Very good buy!

This is a 1080 up convert dvdrw+ doesn't do -dvds.
This unit has rca hook up front and rear. Tv in and out,rca's in back are both in and out. hdmi output and stero video in and out. This unit I have had for two and a half years useing it everyday. Have over 1000 hours of recording from this unit. It is user friendly. I haven't had anything that this unit would not do if it is decoded it will copy it. I have had this unit freeze up but this is my third dvdrw and they all have you only have to unplug and plug it back in to reboot. This is not a digital reciever just a regular unit.

Is there any way that this dvd recorder gets digital channels on the dvd recorder so i would not have to upgrade to a converter box.

Bought a refurbished one of these: RCA drc8052n DVD Recorder with HDMI. I am thrilled with it! Very easy to understand and use, and best of all, it makes really good quality recordings that I can enjoy on other DVD players. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: Here it is two years since I wrote the review and we are still using it with no problems at all. I have to admit I'm surprised it hung in there this long, after the heavy use it gets from us (we record tons of kids shows and movies!).

Just wanted to add to my review to let you know that it's worked wonderfully all this time, with no problems at all. As a side note, I was able to teach my very technologically-challenged mother-in-law to use it as well, so I'd give it a 10-star rating if that were possible, on being user-friendly! ;)
