highly recommended

Bigger than I expected

I was pleased to discover that my Canon 400mm f/5.6 fits nicely...so long as I don't have it attached to a camera body. I'm able to fit that lens, two digital bodies, and two other small lenses in the "camera" half of the bag.

The top half of the bag has plenty of room for spare batteries, cell phone, snack, and 8x40 binoculars. The mesh pocket on the outside is great for a water bottle.

The pack is pretty comfortable (even while full) when I ride my bike around town.

My old iBook fits snugly in the laptop pouch, even though it's much smaller than the maximum size.

Overall, I've found it to be a great bag that really met my needs.

EDIT: I can also fit a 70-200mm lens in the bag with two cameras, a 50mm macro, an 18-50mm and a 400 f/5.6!

Quality!

We got this in right before we left on a two week trip to Europe. We were able to easily carry our laptop, camera, lenses, and travel documents all together in this well put together backpack. When going through airport security, it was easy to remove everything we needed in a quick fashion! My husband and I highly recommend this new backpack from Lowepro.

The Big Bag

I bought this particular backpack for several reasons. I like to have a bag/back pack that can hold both my computer and gears and my photography gears. I have looked into several models which can be really expensive. Since the main purpose of this back pack is to transport my equipment during travel (air plane), I though this would be a good choice. When I received the backpack, the first impression was it is huge!!! Yes, it is but it will fit the space on the airplane (carry on) with everything loaded. However, it may be slightly high (tall) and can be difficult to place under the seat in front of you for the small jets (regional jet). In addition, it can handle a 17" wide screen lab top easily.

The construction of the back pack is good quality and there are ample space to put the equipment. However, it is a little difficult to use this backpack to carry any letter size document without using the computer compartment. Hence, you will not be able to carry lots of document and might need to carry a portfolio on the side.

The packpack as designed will be able to be sling and open the zipper to get the camera. I tried this and it does work nicely. It is comfortable to carry with a full load all day.

Overall it is an excellent designed pack pack for computer and photography equipment transporter. It is bulky but possibly required for the type of equipment it will house. One thing that I had not tested is whether it is rain proof.

great camera accessory

This is a great camera/laptop backpack. Went on a trip out west recently and grabbed this bag to use as both carry-on and hiking for all my camera equipment and laptop. Very user friendly and in the field and plenty of room. I had 4 lenses and my gripped 40D with a 5th lens mounted packed in the main compartment and still had room in the top. Plus when not carrying the laptop, the laptop pocket makes for a nice place to carry a camel-pak bladder for day hikes.

Nice bag, and affordable

I was looking for a bag that would handle my currently small collection of camera equipment and laptop whenever my wife and I make our 400 mile drive to visit grandma. This is the bag I choose. This is my first Lowepro product and I have to say I was impressed.

The build quality is very nice and appears it will be around for a long time to come. The laptop section is large enough to hold a 15 inch MacBook Pro in a neoprene sleeve. I haven't quite figured out how I want to use the interior compartments in the top half of the bag. I thought about keeping extra SD cards, etc. in there but the problem is the pockets are narrow and deep and it would be difficult to quickly fish them back out.

I wish the actual camera compartment could be adjusted to make it a little smaller because my D60 kind of floats around in empty space. If I had a larger camera like a D300 I think it would be a better fit, however I look at the unused space and see it as being wasted. I wouldn't want to put anything like a lens there for fear of it hitting the camera or falling out when I grab the camera for a quick shot.

I will look to Lowepro when the time comes for a slightly smaller bag for trips to the zoo, etc. for this bag is too large to take when doing day trips with the kids.
