The instructions were not kidding when it advises that all tangles and knots must first be brushed out of the coat. If that were possible, I wouldn't have needed the clippers. A pekingese with matted fur presented some problems but, all things considered, I believe the product performed with good power and it was quiet enough not to disturb the pet. Good to know This item includes all the pieces you should need to do a nice job. I think it fails making the high mark because it offers a dvd with it but the dvd doesn't work.
