Great Bluetooth unit - recommend it

I've had it now for over a month and even had the opportunity during a crisis t o use the complete 5 or 6 hrs hours talk time in one day.

No one has complained about not being able to hear me clearly and the fact that it stands up to windy conditions is a real bonus.

I would have prefered a USB recharging option - thats the one lacking feature but I've had plenty of plantronics ear pieces before so have plenty of chargers to go around from home and office.

Highly recommend it !

Pleased with Plantronics Bluetooth

I had originally ordered this product on E-Bay at a lower cost and it arrived in a plain brown box, with partial xeroxed instructions, and no plastic sealing it. I've been quite pleased with the one from Amazon and have had no problem pairing it with my phone or using it. The only annoyance is periodic beeps.

My son had originally recommended it to me and now I pass on the recommendation to you.

Audio quality and durability excellent

I just purchased my second Plantronics Voyager 510. The last one lasted for at least 2 years - it was given to me by a friend. The audio quality is excellent - people did not know I was on a Bluetooth headset. The durability is great - it spent time in the rain and battered by a toddler and it kept on working.

I tried a Motorola h700 which did not work for me - there was static barely perceptible but annoying to some people - and it picked up far too much background noise so if I was doing dishes or something, forget it. With the Plantronics, I can talk on it almost anytime or anywhere and background noise is not a problem.

The Motorola also pinched my ear sometimes and I would have to work to get it on, and get it adjusted. The Plantronics is comfortable.

Only a couple complaints that caused 4 and not 5 stars for me: The piece that goes behind the ear is too bulky and competes with space if you wear glasses or a headband. The little bud that goes into your ear is ok and made me feel like it wouldn't come off, but sometimes it would turn and fall out. Wind caused a problem so when I was outside and it was windy, I would often have to tell people to wait a minute.

Wind reduction or wind amplification?

I have been using the Plantronics Voyager 510 for about a month now and it certainly is extremely comfortable and does its job well. I wear it for the most part of the day without removing it when I am driving or working in my lab, but apart from a little shifting once in a while, it is extremely comfortable. Battery life is great (actually works a lot longer than the 10 hr standby and 3 hr talktime that the literature says), and range is good.

The one thing I am unhappy about is that it does not deliver what it promises in terms of background noise reduction and wind reduction. It in fact seems to do the opposite - people have trouble hearing me even if there is a slight breeze (I have to switch back to my cellphone), and everyone tells me it sounds like I have them on speaker-phone.

There are a lot of complaints about the buttons - and I wont lie, the volume bottoms are awkwardly placed (too high and right next to the power button). I am always concerned of pressing the power button accidentally when I adjust the volume in a conversation. But that just takes a little getting used to, and maybe might just be because of the size of my fingers.

On the whole a great product, I would definite recommend it to anyone looking for a new bluetooth; it does a good job for its price, it is light, comfortable, and surely stylish.

Voyager headset - worth the money!

We love this headset so much, we bought two! My son uses it for his PS3 and says it's much better than his old Motorola. I use it for my cell phone and it works like a charm. Hardly any background noise, and voices are loud and clear. Highly recommended!
