Excellent product, no pifalls or troubles

This is an amazing screen for this price. It works very smoothly. very easy to install, great picture quality. I have not had any problems. Although most customers complain about the smell. It will go away if you let it open for a week or two. Highly recommended.

A great screen for the price

I bought the Draper Luma 106" screen in Hi-Def. grey HD format. I compared many other screens before purchasing, including Optoma, Elite, Vutec, Ultra and Da-Lite. My criteria were limited to 106" to 115" HDTV format, manual operation (to limit the cost) and a gray screen (because of high ambient light) in my home theater environment. I'm using an Optoma HD70 projector (720p).

Yes, the screen does stink for several weeks. I was furtunate to have some good weather shortly after I installed it and I just left it down with the windows open to ventilate the room.

The screen is well made and operates smoothly, always catching in the same place to precisely position it in front of the projected image. Retraction is equally smooth and consistent. I have it suspended on small brackets 6" away from my wall.

I had been projecting on the bare wall before buying the screen and was having a lot of difficulty balancing contrast and brightness, primarily during daytime viewing. The grey screen definitely helps with this problem and the colors appear more warm and balanced compared to the off-white wall.

The screen hangs mostly flat but I can just make out a slight ripple on the left side. It's barely noticeable while viewing unless the image on that side of the screen is a uniform color. That being said, a tab tensioned screen was out of my budget so overall I am very pleased.

Nice Size

Just to clarify this is a Matte White HDTV Format screen. The 106" is spectacular. When you first get it, it does smell. It smells like the plastic three ring avery binders. Working at staples Ive come to know this smell well. But after about two weeks its fine, no more smell. Great screen for the price. I picked it up for $130 from amazon.

Stinky, but good quality for a great price

I think others have said it, but this product stinks... literally. Other than that, it is pretty good. After about 3 weeks the smell will go away, then everything is fine with the screen. I really like the wide viewing angle this provides. If you're going to have a sectional sofa, this is a good choice.
