Great stuff

Tom Selleck is excellent as Jesse Stone. This is a thoughtful, well written and well-acted movie. I have enjoyed the entire series but this movie stands out.

I think with his experence from Hawaii 5-0 and these Jesse Stone [bad azz] movies he can just keep going on making movies of this content.....

Just introduced to the old TV series with Tom Selik? (not sure of the spelling). Found out is was a TV mini series that never got the go-ahead from the big boys in the office. I found this to be a much more pleasurable show than alot of the soap operas or reality shows on TV today! A well selected cast that played their parts in accordance with the books that were written several years ago. Action/mystery & murder/romance, were all well written in the books & acted out by A-list & B-list actors from both movies & TV. Just sorry the corporate big shots didn't feel it was economically worth the investment for a full fledged season.

Okay, but not the best.

We are fans of the Jesse Stone series, but the sleaze factor was much higher in this one and detracted from it.

Tom Selleck is Jesse Stone, a former L.A. homicide detective who left behind the big city and an ex-wife to become the police chief of the quiet New England fishing town of Paradise, Massachusetts. Stone's old habits die hard as he continues to indulge in his two favorite things - scotch and women. When a series of murders take place, and a high school girl is raped, he's forced to face his own demons in order to solve the crimes.
