Portable Power in a Pretty Package

This is a very neat little unit. I needed some backup to run a sump pump in case of power failure during a deluge. Deluges have been pretty common lately, and this machine has given some peace of mind as the alternative is a lot of ruined carpet. Basically, the unit is as advertised. It arrived well-packaged and assembled, but without oil. After oiling and gassing it started on the second pull, ran smoothly, and put out the juice. The continuous power rating is 1400 watts with a maximum load of 2000 watts so 1400 hundred is the figure you should use for continuous service. This is the way all generator units are advertised, using the maximum load figure. This size will easily run my sump pump and maybe the freezer and/or refrigerator. The gas tank is a good size and the power panel is straightforward and easy to use. And it weighs less than 60 lbs. so it is not too difficult to get it where you want it. Must say I haven't had a threatening power outage since I got it, and maybe never will, but I also like electric string trimmers, chain saws, and leaf blowers. Come fall I will put The unit on a wagon and then can take it anywhere on my wooded lot to run these appliances. If having a few extra electrons would make your life better, this model might fill the bill. So far I like it a lot.

We bought this generator for a camping trip we were taking. Set up wqas easy, starting unit was easy. It did not run the 9.5 hours @ 50% load as description states. It ran about 6 hours, if that. Also found that if you fill gas tank to near the top, you are actually over-filling it. When you tighten the cap, gas comes out the fuel guage. It also appears the gas has eaten away at the fuel guage plastic cover.

OK little machine

I ordered this in February and have used it several times. I use it to charge a small battery bank with a 45 amp IOTA charger. The generator didn't like the charger at first, the engine would surge and never settle in. Decided to let it run a bit pumping out my trash/burn hole I have dug. It fills with water when it rains, another reason for the generator. After running it in a bit, I hooked it back up to the charger and it seems to be fine now. Loads it down quite a bit, but no more surging. The recoil start is a weak point though. I started it onece and the cord got tangled up inside. Had to take it all appart and recoil the rope. During this I found the screw in the middle had come loose and stripped the threads somehow. Put that all back together with some JB Weld and so far so good. Thats the reason it only got 4 stars..

Like It but Service Issue

Houston, Texas. I received this generator in good condition and on time. Filled with gas and oil. Took a few pulls and started. Ran a bit rough (surging) but smoothed out a bit after warming. I adjusted carb and it ran just fine. I have only run it a couple of times totaling less than 1/2 hour of time just to check it and to accomodate my building a little enclosure for it. I believe its a very good value for the money assuming it doesn't have any initial problems. This one began leaking gas which I fixed. It was just the tank line below the shut-off valve... probably came loose from vibration. I noticed a more serious problem after it sat a few days. The engine appears to be leaking oil from the crankcase seal, as best I can tell. I called the 800 service number and they asked me to email or fax my proof of purchase and model info which I did. The customer rep said she would phone me back with the name of the nearest service center location but only after receiving my info. I guess its a secret. I'm still waiting for her call since I emailed everything within 10 minutes of our of conversation. Apparently it can't be returned or exchanged so I suspect I will try to seal the crankcase myself if All Power never contacts me. Its one of the potential problems when you buy from Amazon direct. When and/or if I hear from All Power customer service, I'll try to update this review.

This is a great machine i use it every time we go camping. You can tote it around very well it is very light and easy to use. I would reccomond it to all who need a small generator for camping or just around the house.
