PS3 Controller Lives Up to Its Reputation

Being a novice to the world of PS3 gaming, my partner and I instantly took to playing Modern Warfare II. After learning the basics, we had to team up which led to my purchase of another controller. The controller was great as we quickly learned fire and maneuver tactics (I'm a former military combat engineer). The only problem was learning to put the controller down to rest.

Okay, but not durable

It's a good controller at first, being lightweight and responsive, but it is more for the casual gamer who plays maybe 1-2 hours a week. The first problem I noticed was that the joysticks get worn out really easy. They get really loose, and for one of my controllers, it has got to the point where I have to push it up so far that the characters in the game can't run. Of course, the only way to fix this is to buy a new controller. I've went through two controllers like this, and the same thing kept happening. I had my PS2 controller for seven years, and it still functions like new. These controllers last 1-2 years, but only if you take breaks for long periods of time. Unfortunately, there isn't a good alternative at this point in time, so this has to do. A shame, considering how useful the PS3 system is.

Having a red controller is great. When my son needs to take it to someones house if they don't have enough controllers there are no questions to who's is who's.
