I read all the below reviews and hesitated on my purchase. Then I downloaded the sample and was impressed. They must have fixed all the problems listed because I can navigate and search and the highlight for me was that not only can I highlight and bookmark but I can put a note anywhere in text I desire. It is lightening fast and by far exceeds the app versions. I am moving from Gutenberg to iPad and this has become my Bible

This NKJV for the Kindle was recently updated in October 2009 to fix some of the formatting issues present in the previous version as well as enabling chapternavigation. One word of caution regarding chapter navigation is that it works very well for me with the Old Testament but not so well with the New Testament (would take too long to explain). At any rate, I use this Kindle version as my daily reader and use 4 book marks to pick up where I last left off: 1. In the Old Testament 2. Book of Psalms. 3. Book of Proverbs. 4. New Testament.
When I need to study something in depth, I either go to [...] or pull out one of my leather bound Bibles.
Don't at all be afraid to get this bible if you are going to use it as your daily reader. Again, not so good for in depth bible study unless you get really, really good at using the kindle's search feature.

I am using "Kindle for PC" and really enjoy having my whole library with me as I travel. I was happy to be able to buy the Bible, download, and read anytime without being on the internet.
This NKJV is great for reading, but not really for research. The navigation issues mentioned in other reviews makes it easy to get lost. This was especially true when I was reading from the iPod Touch.
There are also many places where words are missing or turned around incorrectly. For example:
Ephesians 6:10
Kindle Version: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the and in the power of His might.
Hard Copy NKJV: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
This is a major omission of the central theme of the Bible.
I have given this book, the Bible 5 stars for the book, not for Amazons version of the book.
