The Little Saw That Can

Small and light weight, this saw is great for flooring. You can cut right there in the room, so it eliminates the need to set up outside.

Lightweight,Time saver.

I am a flooring contractor.I got this Skil flooring saw at Lowe's for $[...]. Used it on (approx.)a dozen jobs (mostly 8 mil laminate).It is a solid tool that does what it's designed for.Usually when I install laminate in an occupied home I must leave my saws outside or in the garage.And the trips get annoying,as well as slow me down.This tool does the job of a table saw and miter. And is lightweight,portable and clean enough to be by my side all day.Even after I hook up my small ridgid vac and hose to it!It saves time and that makes money!The only drawback is that because of the small dia of the saw(4 1/2"),it eats blades!(1 per room,200 ft).If they redesigned this to a full size circular saw it would be the shizzle!.However,they probably won't.Because they want to make a fortune on these specialty blades!($10. ea.)Above all I would still recommend it to anyone who want to save time on wood and laminate installations.

Overall, for the price not bad...

I have to say that it does the job well except for dust colloction which is substandard even with a vacuum attached. It sprays dust all over and under the unit. Be aware if you are working in an occupied house. They could have easily corrected this and it would have been worth the extra cost.

Again, for the money not bad. Cut quality was good, but not as good as a table saw with a good blade. It did make things go faster however.

This saw is a beauty!

Let me start by saying, I am NOT a professional floor installer. After searching for a saw that would cut laminate flooring, I accidentally stumbled upon this. This worked as I had hoped, and flawlessly. It is easy to use, and has built in safety features for amateurs like me. We put down 325 sq ft of laminate flooring, with plans to do more rooms. It had no problem cutting through the oak cove moldoing either. We are still using the initial blade.

Great Flooring Saw That Also Stores Easily

The Skil 3600 Flooring Saw is an excellent tool for your next wood or laminate flooring job. While I wouldn't recommend it for any other cutting needs, it will help you get your flooring job quicker and easier. The saw works great for flooring up to 8 inches wide and 3/4-inch thick,but it doesn't work well for anything over that, so keep those numbers in mind. If you need the saw to do more than flooring jobs, it may not be the best tool for you. One of my favorite features of the saw is how easy it is to setup, break down, and carry with you. It is quite portable for it's size, which comes in handy when needing to move rooms or even to another job site. It can make angled miter cuts from 0 to 47 degrees and has built in places for the most common cuts. If you are looking at doing a flooring job soon, I would highly consider getting the Skil 3600.
