Good value for the money and now with Pandora too !!!

The setup was very easy with ZyXEL WAP3205. No need to buy expensive Panasonic wireless adapter. It updated the firmware very quickly. I am enjoying Netflix, Youtube and yes Pandora too. I read many reviews that Pandora is not there but to my surprise I found Pandora after I updated the firmware. The Netflix quality is very good. I think you can enjoy the best quality with high speed internet, download speed of at least 5 mbps. It is recommended 6 mbps in the manual (p-22).

Pros : Good quality blue ray picture, good audio, Netflix, Youtube and Pandora. Got it very cheap at Amazon with $25 mail in rebate and fast shipping. I have not tried Amazon video on demand. Loading is very quick.
Cons: Does not play many home copied DVD and old vcd's. So, you have to keep your old DVD player. Up-conversion is average. Cannot switch off TV while playing Pandora otherwise it switch off this BD player.
System used : Panasonic 50' Plasma, DMP-BD65, ZyXEL WAP3205 for wireless access point, Onkyo HT-S5300, All connection through Mediabridge 9102X06B Ultra Series High Speed HDMI Cable
07/09/2010 Update **
I figured how to switch off TV while playing Pandora. It is a simple setup in my Pansasonic TV with Viera link. Please follow these steps on your TV remote.
1. Menu 2. Setup 3. Scroll Down and you will see 'Viera link' 4. Select 'Power off Link' option and change it to 'Off'. Default is 'Set'.
Now you can enjoy the Internet radio Pandora without wasting power.

BD65

Works great. Have it hooked to old SD tv now until I get new HD tv. Plays everything including burned single layer and dual layer verbatim and ofcourse blu-ray. Great price and fast shipping, thanks much.

Best bang for the buck!

Wow! For what you pay, this is a great Blu-Ray player. As soon as I plugged it into the wall with an Ethernet cable and hit update it was able to stream Netflix and Pandora and a hole bunch of other stuff I'll never use. Pandora is better than on the computer because, for some reason, there are no commercials when it streams through the Blu-Ray. The Netflix quality is WAY better than I expected. I do have a pretty fast connection (4 up/4 down) so that might make a difference. When I want to stream from Netflix, it literally takes about 10 seconds to retrieve and voila! It starts playing with no hesitating, no buffering, nothing. And you use the remote to pause, skip, etc just like a disc. Some Netflix stream titles are in HD and others are a bit less (about standard DVD quality I would say). The sound is not quite as good as a Blu-Ray disc as it is compressed, but it still very good. Between this player your $11/month Netflix sub (which will get you one-at-a-time Blu Rays and unlimited streaming, and a $20 amplified hi-def antenna (like a Terk)to get broadcast you should be good to go. Screw cable!

The player itself works great. Excellent remote and easy to navigate menus. Boot time is NOT .5 secs. But maybe I'm not defining boot the way they are. It takes about 10 secs to read a Blu-Ray and have it ready to play. Nonetheless, great machine for the dough. You will be happy. If you're not, I'll give you a hug.

Great for your basic playing

I say great for basic play because I don't care about streaming or Netflix. I do have a life to run and mega video overload is not my goal. However this product is a snap out of the box install. Power in HDMI out to screen or reciever. Done... Picture for up conversion is awsome. Not sure I see the same problems others have. Don't use a cheap cable and you will not have any problems. Most issues Ive seen over time have been cheap cable problems blamed on the what ever unit is being used.
Suggestion: Mediabridge 9102X06B Ultra Series High Speed HDMI Cable
Blu DVD quality is of course wonderful but I'm just as happy with my retro DVD collection. Old DVD players used Composite in/out running retro DVDs with HDMI does add extra bandwidth. Colors are brighter and detail is enhanced from just more bandwidth.
