highly recommended

Great but too graphic

This was truly an excellent movie, great story, acting, etc etc... My only complaint is the depiction of murder victim's in photos. It is totally unnecessary to show the gore and it disappoints me that so many directors choose to do so.

Girl with Dragon

This is my second swedish film... i think. The only other swedish film i seen many times was "Let the right on it". maybe i seen other swedish films, whatever.

I like this movie a lot. I didn't expect some of what I saw and i didn't start reading the book until after i saw the movie. I really like the character Lisbeth Salander. She's cool and got some wicked style going on.

I'll watch this movie again in due time though it is a little long i have to admit.

I can't believe how good this movie was!

I popped this movie in before going to bed and I figured I'd get a bit of it in before I fell asleep. 30 minutes later I was sitting up totally glued to the tv which rarely happens. I'm not going to get into the details of this movie but if you like murder mysteries with twists and turns this is it. The acting was superb by the entire cast and I found myself trying to put everything together throughout the entire movie. This is one of those films that I have to have in my collection for sure. The rape scenes were pretty brutal though so prepare yourself for those. I ended up buying the region 2 sequels from overseas because they aren't scheduled for a U.S. release for awhile and I'm not going to wait!

Sorry, but I don't have any wisdom to add to the other 5-star reviews. Anything I could say would just be a repeat.

P.S. If you're still in doubt, the answer is, "Yes, you do want to see this movie."

Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her beloved uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) and the tattooed and troubled but resourceful computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) to investigate. When the pair link Harriet s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vanger s are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.
