OZZY'S BACK
THIS ALBUM IS VERY ROCKIN I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T BE AS GOOD WITH A DIFFERENT GUITARIST BUT IT REALLY ROCKS!!!!!!I'D SUGGEST BUYING IT IF YOUR INTO SOME KILLER OZZY OSBOURNE SONGS!!!!!!!!!
No More Barking at The Ultimate Madman Ozz
Well, Ozzy sure makes for some spirited debate, doesn't he?
To put my review in perspective: 30-year fan, first saw Ozzy live on the Madman tour with Randy. Seen him live countless times (not ALL good shows) and in 1998 I drove 2800 miles to catch the Sabbath reunion tour kickoff.
I bought this album 'cause it was (appropriately) on sale and I felt that overwhelming sense of nostalgia. But, after the last two albums, I was SURE that it was going to suck; that it was going to be more "product".
Well, "
Scream
" may be product but it does not suck. It is quite catchy, heavy and at times felt almost organic. Ozzy's best since the comparatively catchy/heavy "Ozzmosis". This new one is tucked in the car's CD player where it will remain for the next several days/weeks as I continue to enjoy it (or at least until I acquire the latest Nevermore release).
Ozzy's growl is infectious and makes this reviewer feel like a kid again.
I don't miss Zakk one bit. The man never seemed to grasp the "less is more" approach that made Iommi/Ozzy such a perfect combo.
I would love to see Ozzy perform these songs live but historically Ozzy only performs one or two tracks from the latest release while playing almost the entire "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Paranoid" albums! Great albums, yes, but I've seen those songs performed too many times. Vary the set-list, Ozz!
Everyone has their own expectations of Ozzy so I completely understand the wide range of opinions. Me? I'm just a sentimental ol' metal-head who was very pleased with this purchase.
And remember, Ozzy loves us all.

Scream
is Ozzy Osbourne's first album in three years and 10th studio album overall. The album was produced by OZZY and Kevin Churko, both of whom did the same honors for OZZY's 2007 worldwide million-seller Black Rain, the album. The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer recorded most of the album at his Los Angeles home studio, The Bunker, and co-wrote all the songs, primarily with Churko. Notably, the album marks the first appearance of OZZY's new guitar player, Gus G. OZZY's band also features bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman.
