Awesome CD Highly Recommended

I wasn't expecting much out of vince neil on this one since it was mostly covers and NOTHING written by vince, but being a fan i picked it up. WOW!!! what a surprise. This thing rocks, great tunes and a very guitar driven vibe. I can't stop listening to it. It hits hard and the songs stick with u through out the day. Thank God that lame a$$ song "Promise Me" didnt make the record as that would've killed the vibe. U won't regret this purchase..buy it

Ever since `Motley Crue' made that triumphant studio comeback with `Saints of Los Angeles' two years ago, I've been looking forward to any musical release coming form the `...Crue' camp; So this 2010 album `Tatoos & tequila' is the third overall studio release from Vince as a solo artist with an evident and very fitting summer atmosphere.

With the exception of two songs, `Tattoos...' is a covers album; even before playing the CD, I was very excited by the fact that Neil recruited bassist Dana Strum and guitarist Jeff Blando (both ex-`Slaughter') as well as drum prodigy Zoltan Claney. The band, as expected, is hot rocking and together with Vince they `motley-ize' a good amount of classic rock tracks. Vince has got to receive credit for planning this carefully: finding top old school musicians, and choosing the most fitting songs to his voice and overall glam/sleaze style. Most importantly, however, Vince and the guys manage to deliver a rocking summer album full of positive attitude which I suppose is exactly what times demand. Favorite tracks include `Tattoos and Tequila', `Nobody's fault', `Viva Las Vegas' and `Another piece of meat'.

A spot on release form Vince, the right band, the right songs, the right attitude offering the ideal summer-rocker album for just about any fan of the genre. (I very much hope that we see an all-original studio album by this amazing line-up sometime soon).

The European version of the album issued by `Frontiers records' includes a 12th bonus track, `Beer drinkers and hell raisers'

`Metal Hammer' Greek magazine (issue 307) marks this album with 7/10 commenting: "...a pure `sleaze' journey..."

Not bad..I was surprised

After Vince Neil's last solo album, I wasn't expecting very much out of this. I was very surprised. A couple new songs which were very good and some remakes from other bands that sounded good also. I would recommend it to any Motley Crue or rock fans of that era.

Vince does a great job with these remakes. The best song in my opinion though is the title track. Vince rocks!

Neil s refreshed collection of classics consists of nine hand-picked, influential covers by such musical legends as The Sex Pistols, Elvis Presley and Creedence Clearwater Revival as well as two new tracks; Tattoos & Tequila, and Another Bad Day, which was originally written by Nikki Sixx for Mötley Crüe s release of New Tattoo in 2000 and just missed the cut. The title song for the album captures Vince s signature sound with a contemporary feel that has been compared to current acts such as Cavo and Godsmack.
