The Economist61 reviews

The Economist Newspaper Group, Inc.

Closest thing to an oracle
This is a good magazine for hindsight. It shows how things come about in the word. There is just about as much information on politics and/or just the way key people think around the world, and the results of their decisions. Instead of being just a hindsight magazine, this magazine is also capable of foresight, it was able to successfully predict the outcome of the German elections and what ...

B&W: Black & White Magazine7 reviews

Ross Periodicals Inc

nice
This past summer I picked up two issues of this magazine and they sat on my shelf for a few months before I finally got around to reading them. I was impressed. The quality of this magazine is higher than any other photographic magazine I've seen. The image quality, the paper, all top notch. This is a fine arts magazine and doesn't (at least from what I saw) spend time with articles about the ...

Nursing Made Incredibly Easy13 reviews

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins

Good magazine for nursing students
I am almost finished with the LPN program and I found this magazine very useful and helpful. Its another tool to learn more about diseases, nursing, and helps make classroom information more familiar. The only downside is that it does take an extremly long time for the magazine to come (more than the 6-8wks of other magazines I have ordered) and they do send alot of past issues and then send ...

AJN: American Journal of Nursing16 reviews

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins

Professional nursing for all of us
As members of a complex profession with a range of specialties, it is easy for us to lose sight of our common core as registered professional nurses. This is the only journal covering the range of nursing practice at a professional level, incorporating original research, commentary and clinical applications. Reading it regularly provides me a regular overview of important issues facing nurses ...

Foreign Policy17 reviews

Foreign Policy

On Par With The Economist and Better Than Foreign Affairs Journal!
I'm happy that I ordered a subscription to this magazine as it not only matches, but surpasses the content provided in the Foreign Affairs Journal. The student discount rate I received (at the official foreign policy website) has the most reasonable price. Each new issue of FP contains a barrage of perspectives on numerous topics that are very relevant today. Photos, graphs, and charts also help ...

Popular Mechanics (1-year auto-renewal)148 reviews

Hearst Magazines

Best magazine deal
I love popular Mechanics and I've been a subscriber for years. Recently my renewal came up and I just couldn't seem to justify the cost from the publisher, so I went looking for a better deal and found it at Amazon. I got double the publishers months and for less than the publishers yearly rate. Thanks Amazon, I'm a fan.

World of Interiors7 reviews

Conde Nast Publications Ltd

THE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE
I wouldn't want to imagine life without WOI. It would be a dim affair. I have subscribed for 10 years and every issue of the magazine contains something unforgettable. I am not an interior designer. I am fascinated by how people live. UNIQUELY, of all the so-called "shelter" magazines, WOI actually is all about YOUR interior life. There will be an article abut some upscale Chelsea apartment, ...

American Bee Journal2 reviews

Dadant and Sons

For the Advanced Hobbyist or Commercial Beekeeper
Although this publication is geared toward the advanced hobbyist or commercial beekeeper, I found it to be very helpful as a beginner. Learning about the beekeeping industry from a more global perspective is important if one is considering expanding from the hobby to earning a living through beekeeping.

Bee Culture3 reviews

A I Root Co

very informative
This magazine was a christmas gift for my father. He said that it is very in depth and informative to the goings on about beekeeping. He enjoys reading this magazine very much, and it is understandable instead of a lot of scientific journal writing that is difficult to read into.I am very pleased that it is not scientific enough that you need to be a doctor to read it and still gets to the heart ...

New Scientist - Us Edition6 reviews

Reed Business Info E Grinstead

The best science magazine available!
This magazine is by far the best I have read. It includes real, cutting edge science of every field. The diversity and insight the articles bring have made it a must have. I am currently finishing up my undergrad degrees in physics, math and neuroscience and this magazine offers up to date research in all fields. One suggestion, but one off the newstand and subscribe through the included ...

Utne22 reviews

Ogden Publications, Inc.

Automatic renewal magazine
I started reading the magazine in college. Utne was the first magazine I ever really enjoyed reading, I suddenly "got it". I would really like to subscribe to this magazine but, they have an automatic renewal policy, and I am personally against anyone taking my money without permission. I also don't subscribe to anything by Rodale Publishing for this reason; Men's Health, Fitness, Prevention, etc.

Watercolor2 reviews

Interweave Press

Mouthwatering
This magazine is inspiring to the beginner and a challenge to the experienced watercolorist. I never tire of seeing the great work of the artists highlighted in this magazine. The issues often have workshop-like articles on using computer graphics software, how to handle color, composition or other technical aspects. And then there is just the eye candy, purely for artistic pleasure. While your ...

Nursing9 reviews

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins

Magazine great, annoyed with publisher
This is a really great magazine for all levels of learning/nursing. As a student, I am able to learn a great deal from it. The publisher sent me 6 months worth of back issues as part of the 12 monthly issues that I ordered! I would have rather had my subscription run for the entire year instead of having 6 issues in one month and need to pay to renew this again so soon!

Atomic Ranch7 reviews

Atomic Ranch

Midcentury Marvels For The New Millennium
Ever since I saw "Atomic Ranch" in a bookstore, I knew I would be a long-term subscriber. The magazine is devoted to ranch homes built during the cold war (roughly the 1950s to 1970s) that were considered cool when they were built, and have been updated in unique and beautiful ways since then. The first word that comes to mind when leafing through this magazine is "retro," and for good ...

American Scientist4 reviews

American Scientist

Diverse science articles written for scientists and the scientifically literate
This bimonthly magazine contains science articles written by scientists for the scientifically literate reader (primarily other scientists). W Boudville's review is, in my view, incorrect on most points. His/her claim that the American Scientist is simply the American equivalent of Nature is totally wrong. Nature is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that contains (tersely written) ...
