O Brother, Where Art Thou?514 reviews
Various Artists - Soundtrack

Lost Highway, 2000

Enduring charm
Great music brings back favorite scenes from the film. Listening to it over and over, though, can become a bit of a drag, due to the number of melancholy melodies. Exceptional artistry, however.

Long Overdue Recognitiom
Having grown up on Long Island, New York, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were very much apart of my youth. Now knowing the whole story of their creation and ups and downs completes a picture many people my age would appreciate (I'm 62) Actually, the quality and sound of these singers are equal, if not superior, to the original group. Not to be missed on stage (now playing at the Plazzo in ...

    Sesame Street - Elmo's Potty Time159 reviews
Sesame Street

Sesame Street, 2006

A little long, but enjoyable for parents too.
My son is two, so this video is a little long for him to sit through, he likes to have it on and loves anything Elmo. We haven't been to the potty yet, but he will sit and try. My husband, a giant kid at heart, got a kick out of the songs.

    The Sound76 reviews
Mary Mary

Sony, 2008

2 Thumbs up! 5 Stars! The Best!
I absolutely love this "new sound" that Mary Mary has portrayed on this cd. I love the old school to the new school. I love absolutely every single song on the cd. a few of the songs are head movers while the other songs if you take time to listen to them are really songs that minister to you, whether they be upbeat or slow. I have just about all of their cd's and I feel this is the best yet!

    Hold Time11 reviews
M. Ward

Merge Records, 2009

Already on the short list for Best of 2009
This is my first introduction to M. Ward. Reading the reviews and listening to samples of other albums, I can see how some might think this is just more of the same - but for me, it's new and fresh and brilliant. By the third time through Hold Time (and it really lends itself to listening all the way through, especially with headphones) I was sold - atmospheric, warm, catchy, intelligent, just a ...

    Chris Botti in Boston2 reviews
Chris Botti

Columbia, 2009

It gets no better than this, folks !!
This DVD (mine is Blu-Ray) is as good as live recorded music gets. Chris Botti has a style that seems to transcend traditional trumpet...and on this CD/DVD, he does it all, from rock to jazz, and to classical. He is the most lyrical trumpet player I have ever heard...and his backup band (even without the Boston Symphony Orchestra) is absolutely first rate. Check out the rhythm section getting ...

A.R.Rahman

Interscope Records, 2008

Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack is the best!
Music lovers of all types, especially Bollywood tinged dance, urban rap, some soft, popish ballads, instrumental and vocal driven songs will crave this one. This soundtrack also features the same suspense and thrill of the movie, so check out the movie and see why the soundtrack is a total hit in my books.

Poseidon and the Bitter Bug9 reviews
Indigo Girls

Vanguard Records, 2009

A welcome return to form
I know it sounds like a cliche but "Poseidon" really is a return to form for Indigo Girls. It's an album I've been waiting for for a very long time. The key? It's an acoustic album. Even the "big band" versions are mostly acoustic...this harks back to halcyon days of "Stange Fire" and "Indigo Girls" and it's a welcome return to that sound. I just got the album today and I can't stop ...

    Daughtry880 reviews
Daughtry

RCA, 2006

As Good as They Come
Season five of American Idol will probably go down as one of the show's best, and it truly is, considering that a man who was eliminated before the final episode has released a debut album this amazing. "Daughtry" oozes the rock that made Chris Daughtry a standout talent on a show full of would-be pop stars, and being booted off early may have been the best thing for him. One thing's for sure: ...

Yanni... Pure Genius...
I didn't really like the new direction he was heading but I kept my trust in Yanni because I've always known that he was a musical genius. It turns out I'm glad I gave it a chance because this turned out to be an amazing album. Yanni can truly do ALL kinds of music and THAT is what makes him a genius... and look, it SELLS! Congratulations Yanni VERY relaxing, yet groovin album! There is nothing ...

    Para Olvidarte de Mi1 review
RBD

EMI Latin, 2009

A solid final album from our favorite 'Rebeldes'
RBD may have broken up, but they're certainly never be forgotten. PODM is a fun, upbeat album covering lots of musical styles. Perfect for a first time RBD fan, but longtime fans will love this too! Even if you dislike RBD, it's impossible not to fall in love with at least one track on this album. 1. Camiņo al Sol- A nice start to the album. Dulce sings and sounds nice in this song. However, ...

I bought this CD right before I went on a road trip and played it the entire 6+ hour drive there...I wasn't sure the friend I was visiting would like it as much as me but I played it for her and now she is hooked too...I am in love...I will be buying LOTS more Chris Botti CD's in the near future...I'm so excited he is releasing a new CD at the end of March:)

Magnificent and Original!
Every track on this recording is a pleasant and wonderful surprise. Part has produced a modern masterpiece! One has to experience this recording and live its many triumphs!

Astral Weeks Live At the Hollywood Bowl55 reviews
Van Morrison

Listen To The Lion Records, 2009

Fabulous *live* revisit of a classic
A must-buy for Van Morrison fans. A should-buy for anyone else. This is a mature revisiting of Morrison's classic album, performed live, where the naivete of the young man's album is performed with the mature man's nuance. Technically, the recording does a great job of capturing the live performance. Hard to do at best, but difficult indeed for an artist like Morrison.

    Coming Back to You75 reviews
Melinda Doolittle

Hi Fi Recordings, 2009

Melinda is the real deal
One thing is for sure -- Melinda Doolittle has oodles and oodles of a certain magic in her voice that comes from a rare kind of authenticity that does not come around all that often. Ms. Doolittle has a special way of making you feel what she is feeling when she sings the lyrics. She is just a natural born songstress, somewhat like Billy Holiday who could immediately take a song and sing it like ...

    Pablo Honey [COLLECTOR'S EDITION- 2 CDs]1 review
Radiohead

Capitol, 2009

Radiohead's humble beginnings
First off- when it was announced that EMI was going to be repackaging more Radiohead, presumably only to profit off a former artist with a rich back catalog, I decided I would not be purchasing anything. Once the track listing came out and all b-sides and demos from the respective era would be included, I was sold. That said, in my mind, "Pablo Honey" was always the weakest album by the band. ...

An automobile or motor car is a wheeled motor vehicle for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor. Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed to run primarily on roads, to have seating for one to eight people, to typically have four wheels, and to be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods.
