Another new Cursive style
This album is significantly different than all that have come before it. It has some excellent tracks (I like the Dorothy ones best). It does have some theme like Ugly Organ. This album talks about mid-east life using Wizard of Oz's Dorothy.

diggin' domestica
This will be the third album I've purchased by Cursive. The first was The Ugly Organ(5 star), second was Happy Hollow(5 star) and now Domestica. I gotta say very different from the above mentioned but holds it's own for what they're writing about on this one. Musically it doesn't have the strings or horns. In exchange you get some programmed electro sound sampling/beats. After it's ...

oh yes
I remember being amazed by this record when I preordered it from saddle creek a few years ago, and my opinion of it hasn't changed at all since then. These five songs are so beautiful, and probably the most intense stuff cursive has written. I think all of their albums are way ahead of the pack, but this one is still my favorite. You will LOVE it.

Cool
I'm enjoying the sound of this band, esp when they slow it down to either piano or guitar, too sweet. If you're a fan of Playradioplay!, The Morning Of, Capital Lights, Pistolita, just to name a few, check these guys out.

The Difference Between Houses and Homes: Lost Songs and Loose Ends 1995-2001-CURSIVE
Lost songs and loose ends indeed, this album is quite a collection of sporatically recorded music. This CD has the same melodious entwinement between instruments that a real Cursive fanatic has grown to love. At first I was disapointed with this album because it just didn't have the usual cursive "feel" to it; but once I started to really listen to the whole song-not just the lyrics or the ...

I hate sad indie rock. I LOVE this.
"The Ugly Organ" was a birthday gift from a good friend, and it only took one listen to make it onto my "IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS, YOU HAVE NO SOUL" album list. Cello, keyboards and stark guitar dissonance add to the album's overall mood of soul-crushing darkness, something far sadder than sorrow. "The Ugly Organ" is probably the darkest CD in my collection, beating out my numerous goth and doom ...

Amazing album. Amazing band. All of these songs are very beautiful and I do love the album but i do not think that it is the best album that they have ever made, but that isn't stopping me from giving it 5 stars. It has somewhat of a different sound from their older music which is not a bad thing by any means. every song on this album is a masterpiece and it is definietly worth buying. I would ...

Beautiful Beginnings
Not only is this album an amazing beginning for the incredible band known as cursive, but it is also an amazing followup to what emo is all about. Think about 1996 when this album came out. The only other emo bands were sunny day real estate, texas is the reason, and mineral(personally i dont count weezer). This band brought alot to the table and continue to make beautiful music to my ears.

refreshing.
i collect all the songs by cursive i can, but i just got this one, because i figured it just had songs from the ugly organ. new to me are the songs once and adapt. as a standalone, this is pretty solid for 3 songs. it shows a lot of kasher's emotion, and i'd also reccomend it to anybody who cursive is getting a little one-dimensional to. the recluse has a feel that more or less sums up the ...

Excellent, but not astounding examples
This is a good album, but its just a teaser of what quality of music these two bands are capable of. Tides Rush In is easily the best track on this split. Powerful stuff by Cursive, as always, but you should get a different album to get their full effect.

cursive at their finest.
this album could not be any better. my favorite album by one of my all-time favorite bands. i would recommend this over "the ugly organ" any day, but i love everything this band does. this record was great because it was so raw and even almost sloppy at times..some of the best guitar/drum work in indie rock exists here.

The 2 b-sides are worth the money alone. Bitter End might be one of my new favorite Cursive tracks.
