fabulously energetic, beautifully sung, bravado conducting
This is a truly spirited performance of the work. Janet Baker, with here reed-like (clarinet-oboe-ish) voice quality, sounds extremely good; the chorus is perfect, large, spirited and, for once, the words can be understood. The solo instrumental playing in the various parts is not to be out-done. A romantic, enrgetic performance. I love this.
