This set is wonderful!
I just purchased this set, and it was worth EVERY penny I paid for it. This is a wonderful look at our nations history. This was released originally on LP for American's bicentennial in 1975. Parts of this set actually brought me to tears. Absolutely beautiful!

The Best!
I bought this CD as a Father's Day gift for my fiance, because we both love Lewis Black. I thought that it would be a good CD because it was knew and we hadn't heard these jokes before and oh my gosh it was AMAZING! so funny!! The delivery of the CD only took about 2-4 days after I ordered it and was in perfect condition, I would recommend this user and CD to everybody.

Hysterical
It's just as good as the day I watched this on DVD at a friend's house. By the end of it, we were all in tears with smiles etched onto our faces. the album holds up to that, with Black dragging out some of his greatest material he's ever composed into a huge, monumentally hilarious performance. For newcomers of his brand of comedy, the Carnegie Hall album works well. And mark my words, you'll ...

A great follow-up to an outstanding musical experience
ARIA volume 1 was certainly a winner and this follow-up CD is fantastic. I liked the first CD so much that every time I went to the record store or online at Amazon I would look to see if Paul Schwartz and written a sequel. Schwartz selects wonderful works from classical music and re-arranges them so that they maintain the essential spirit and intent of the original but are made accessible for ...

Absolutely Hilarious!!!
Some people may not like to listen to him because he criticizes Republicans so much. I'm Republican but I just think it's extremely funny. If you listen to his stand up before Bush and the Republicans took over the majority of House and Senate you'll see that he makes fun of Clinton just as much if not more. He doesn't care who's in charge of the country. He despises them all and makes great ...

Why is this beautiful set so low in Amazon sales?
While classical music is achieving a resurgence in the UK and Finland, in the U.S. the meager proportion of classical music among record store and department offerings still reflects classical's waning status. What we do find even in drugstores and supermarkets is inexpensive "mood" collections like "Romance", "Spring", "Melancholy", etc. I have no problem with this - some of the unnamed ...

best comidean scence Red Skelton
I have found that with his witty hummor and sharp mind his one of the best comidians of all time. However, due to his topics some might find it offensive. But if you keep in mind it is just hummor and not personal both political sides could get a good joke out of all this.

His finest performance to date!
I am actually listening to this right now on my iPod. I have been a big fan of Lewis Black for many, many years and I can tell you that this is Lewis at his finest. He's hilarious, irreverant and completely mad (and I mean mad as in "insane" but he's also the other kind of mad as well). His take on twitter as well as turning 60 is truly hilarious. And when he talks about hallucinating as a ...

"And that my friends, is the end of the universe."
Lewis Black is the classic angry comic. No one is safe from his sharp, well-thought-out rants. Out of the four CD's of his I have heard (still haven't heard "The White Album", but I will at some point) this one is my favorite. The album starts with a humorous tirade on the traffic in Atlanta (where this album was recorded). Highlights include his takes on airport security post-9/11, The Super ...

Great Band
These guys get tons of radio play here & I picked this up before seeing them live. They're a James Brown inspired band with great lyrics & beats that just put a smile on your face. A throwback band with modern offerings, these guys really rock it out!

The Good News -- this is almost completely new material and has not been duplicated much on his other CDs and DVDs.
I own all of Lewis Black's DVDs and CDs, and I am also a big fan of his material on The Daily Show. That said, this is definitely his best CD that he's done. First, I will have to rebut some of the reviews here -- this is not recycled material. Yes, there are a couple of Superbowl jokes that were reused from The End of the Universe and his 2002 Comedy Central Presents special, and yes, his ...

WELSER-MOST IS REFLECTING ORFF'S MUSIC PRECISELY; IT'S WILD AND RAUCOUS FOR THESE MONKS WERE NOT NICELY! NICELY???!!!! "Carmina Burana" means "Songs of Benediktbeuern" which was a collection of manuscripts that had been put together in the 13th century at the monastery of Benediktbeuern. They had been the repertoire of the vagrant monks of those far-off times. And as a reading of the text ...

The Exquisite Sound of Mantovani
This is a Vocalian re-release of two of the most elegant and exquisite LPs recorded by the original Mantovani Orchestra in the 1950's. All of the hallmarks of the Mantovani sound were launched in these early recordings of the large orchestra that made Mantovani a household name. Seven of the tracks were written by Mantovani including the title melody Candlelight, a truly remarkable ...

A Real Gem
I have about a dozen or so British light music CDs and as with any compilations there are a lot of duplicates. Elizabethan serenade and Barwick Green come to mind. Of the 110 tracks on this 5-CD box set I have not heard of one of the tracks before. It is mostly mid 20th century composers and some of them are serious composers so that the set has some music that does not fall into the category ...

My favorite album
I've been a long time fan of Enya and Yani type music, and am always on the scout for a good album of mood music. I heard Aria 2 while browsing a curiosity shop in Downtown Disney and fell in love. I highly suggest this for anyone who likes a melencholy sound mixed with a nice percussion part.
Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues [Vinyl]
Lewis Black
Stand Up! Records, 2006
It's tragic because it's true, but it's funny because Lewis Black is at the mic. 2005's "Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues" finds Mr. Black stalking the stage and attacking pop culture and politics in equal measure. Like the jolt from a cup of good, strong coffee, the world-weary Black is bracing and just a little bitter (okay, maybe a lot bitter), and absolutely bound to leave his listeners wanting more as he takes on the ludicrous ...

Very entertaining...
Originally saw these guys in the pages of Stereophile magazine and I picked this EP up as a result. It's a quality product, a heavier pressing than their real LP (Tell Em What Your Name Is). It's fun, funny, enjoyable music. A neat addition to your collection. Saw them live a little later and they are the real deal. Very enjoyable presing and music!

Opposite reaction
This is a fine example of a various array of different new music. The fact that it has Donald Sinta performing is an extra treat! Only few recordings are available and are extremely hard to find with Donald Sinta on them. The previous feedback left by the other person is obviously uneducated. I am offended by the tasteless comments of the peon.
