Moraito is the BOMB!
I decided to check out Moraito due to Richard Brune's ravings (the famous guitar builder and guitarist). I am speechless, this is really pure flamenco but also very virtuosic and filled with a modern approach. I would recommend this to people who are into Sabicas, Paco, and stuff like Tomatito, but wouldn't recommend it to people who just want to buy some Rumba dance stuff (not that there is ...

Manuel Agujetas & Moraito

delicious and painful cante flamenco, a treasure
This, my friends, is `the real deal'. Manuel Agujetas is a flamenco cantaor in a class by himself - his style is as real as it gets, completely raw and untamed, his singing as hot as the iron he works in his forge at home, his delivery at times as violent as his hammer pounding the white-hot metal on his anvil. In fact, one of the songs on this CD, `Martinete', is sung a cappella, accompanied ...

INCREDIBLE
One of the nicest I've heard from the "Flamenco Vivo" series by Naive. The singing and guitar work on this disc are utterly fantastic. Sounds like there are some dancers and other listeners attending this performance, with the occasional shouts "Ole!, but wow, how powerful to hear just these two, acoustic guitar and voice, in this most incredible of sound venues - the flamenco ballad. Feels ...

Excellent new but traditional flamenco
El Torta has a wonderful rajo voice, and proves himself to be a master of many of the Jerez styles, especially the various Bulerias. Moraito provides first-rate accompaniment. One of the best recent flamenco albums.

Traditional flamenco at its best
This excellent recording has all the elements of a traditional juerga, where the atmosphere is just right and the small gathering of performers and aficionados are charged with electricity because of the mood and the anticipation of an unforgettable evening. Several singers display their talents in the opening 32 minute bulerias that bounces along with rhythmic color, punctuated by the driving ...
