Goin Out With A Bang...
The Documentary was a classic. The Doctor's Advocate was a good sophomore offering. As The Game's supposed final album, L.A.X. truly surpasses expectations. If you been following Game's career, you know the man has been through a lot, career wise as well as his personally, and I think he does a pretty good job of conveying that through his work, though that was more his last album. L.A.X. is much ...

Thoughts from Balti
I think this is fantastic from beginning to end. The more I listen the better each tract becomes. I can of course hear some RATM, but this is something new. Zac's pairing with Jon Phillip was an excellent choice. We knew the vacals would be great, but the drums add an element that is beyond RATM. I just feel sorry for Mars Volta. Their best assets has moved on to bigget and better things!!!

This rating is subject to change at any time, for any reason...
I'm intrigued. I have put myself into the position of responsibility to purchase a wide range of music that I might not otherwise be familiar with, and Kala is just such a purchase. Quite honestly, I love her accent, and I love her quirky sense of style and artistic chaos. And that translates to the music. The irony being that the music is so "happy" and up-beat, and contrary to the opinion of ...

The Game
Interscope Records, 2008
The Game steps out of the shadow of Dr. Dre, steps free of the Aftermath of his feuds
Just adding the same review from the regular edition and adding that the bonus tracks are excellent, "Nice" produced by Irv Gotti is especially raw and this version of the previously released "Big Dreams" adds a new verse. Rest of my review below... The genesis of Game's career was both a blessing and a curse. He himself raps that few legacies have started "hotter than the beginning of my ...

Real Mood Music
I was really feelin the "Buzzin" and "Corona And Lime" singles, and the show was pretty hilarious, so I bought the LP the first day it came out. I had high expectations and they all were meet. The album has a great vibe and all the hooks and bridges are very cathy. The producer is also very good vocally, as he adds alot to the hooks/verses to back Shwayze up. I like there syle, its like hip-hop ...

Commericial Hip-Hop's Saving Grace
Nas is as real as Ice Water and you better bring a life preserver if you think you can tread water behind him ask Jay-Z after Ether. He soon reconciled and recruited this mad lyricist to his camp. I could say many positive things about this brother and the most important I feel is that he has stayed grounded and been about the Revolution. He is even much more prolific and resolute as he ...

Terrence Howard

Decent album
I admit I rolled my eyes when I heard he was going to make this album.... It's quite a bit raw along most edges, and a little hokey at times, and just pushed a little too hard. Taking all that, I find intensely listenable. The mix is definitely not perfect, but that lack of perfect studio polishing adds to the album, If it were professionally produced it would lose a lot of charm, and be much ...

Classic Kid!
This is my favorite Kid CD. I prefer the rock and Cracker rap to the meaningful ballads, and these tunes are great live, too.

GZA
Babygrande, 2008
Coldest MC in the Game.
I thank God for GZA everyday. He puts any current hip hop "star" to shame. This album is the sickest I've heard in years. It doesent sound much like liquid swords but it has the same knowledge and is just as sick. He is the coldest MC in the game period. I would like to hear 50 respond to Paper Plate without cussin, it would be a joke, but GZA can be so raw without a sticker on his case.

(R)evolution rap.
This band performed with "Rage Against the Machine" here in Denver during the Democratic National Convention. At the end of the show, most of the 7000 people in attendence joined a march led by "Iraq Veterans Against the War." See The Ground Truth and Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan: Eyewitness Accounts of the Occupations for more on that movement. It was a powerful scene, as a couple ...

The Best of The West
After experiencing disappointment with Kanye's previous effort of Late Registration, I had little to no expectations for this album. Of course, The College Dropout was an instant classic when released, but this album tops it. While Late Registration was spotty with the great and the outright bad, this album is a gem from start to finish. It's one of the few albums I can play all the way ...

Rage Against the Machine
Sony, 1992
"Killing in the name of..."
Probably the only rap-metal album that honestly qualifies as any good, and definitely the most violently liberal album I've ever heard in my life. Not like I mind, of course. But if you don't agree with the politics, it'll probably hurt your enjoyment of the album. Enough of that, though. The point is that this band is awesome. Especially guitarist Tom Mollero, who comes up with brilliant riffs ...
