Sleepy Hollow: Music from the Motion Picture57 reviews
Danny Elfman

Hollywood Records, 1999

Fantastic & Thrilling
Off the lights, pop this disc into your player and let the tracks send a chill down your spine. I saw this film in the theater and i am able to get the same sense of anxiety whenever the score plays. You are able to picture the fog and mist laden countryside and the dark woods by just listening to the music. This album is a must have to all soundtrack lovers.

Louder Than Bombs
The Smiths

Sire, 1987

Amazon.com essential recording: This 1987 collection of Smiths album tracks, B-sides, and singles (and roughly half of Hatful of Hollow) is a worthy essential Smiths due to its scope and size. Twenty-four tracks in all, it includes hits such as the irresistible and bouncy "Ask," the Smiths prototype "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now," "William, It Was Really Nothing," "Panic," and "Hand in Glove." Lesser-known tracks like the lovely, piano-driven ...

Shelley Duvall's Tall Tales & Legends - The Legend of Sleepy Hollow3 reviews
Jr. Ed Begley, Beverly D'Angelo

KOCH VISION, 2005

Washington Irving would be proud
This is a wonderfully done show, that, unlike the movie "Sleepy Hollow", remains very loyal to Washington Irving's vision, when Mr Irving created and wrote the American Classic, "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow". Well, there is a slight new twist at the end, but the Headless Horseman told me he'd have my head on a silver platter if I gave the ending away, so I am staying silent! Ichabod Crane, ...

Hatful of Hollow67 reviews
The Smiths

Warner Bros / Wea, 1993

I'll take it now
This is my favorite Smiths album, hands down. Great songs, just the right amount of mope and wit. The only blemish is the presence of "How Soon is Now," but only because it was the closest the band came to a top 40 hit in America and got WAY overplayed. Although I'm sure the song's success helped keep the band clothed and fed, it also diminished their specialness somehow. The rest of the album is ...

Cursive

Saddle Creek, 2006

Good work from Tim.
Tim Kasher writes from the soul of a man/child - whose teachers couldn't be any more wrong then they are allowed to be. It's important to find out what YOU believe.

Before and After Science18 reviews
Brian Eno, Bill MacCormick, ...

Astralwerks, 2004

MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER WORLD
Often denigrated due to its proximity to "Another Green World", "Before and After Science" is in many ways a more mature and experimental record than its beloved sibling. First, a few particular things to recall about the original release: The very sentimental watercolor reproductions originally struck this listener as utterly out of sync with the rather strident adherence to some twentieth ...

Hermit of Mink Hollow28 reviews
Todd Rundgren

Rhino / Wea, 1990

Pop doesn't get better than this
If I could own only one of Todd's solo works (wouldn't that be tragic) this would be it. This breathtaking album highlights what Todd does best... sing and write great songs. He is my favorite vocalist because you can empathize with him and his passion, depth, and tone are out of this world. You can feel his sorrow when he sings a ballad, laugh during an eccentric number, or sing along on a pop ...

Hollow Crown1 review
Architects

Century Media, 2009

Great album
With heavier music seeming stagnant as of late, Architects new album comes as a breath of fresh air. This album is nothing less than a solid 5/5. Architects seem to have settled comfortably into their niche. This album has much more flow than their previous works. Ruin was by no means a bad album, but is was simply a means to helping the band produce this near perfect cd. Hollow crown is ...

Doughboy Hollow2 reviews
Died Pretty

RCA, 1992

"Still waters run deep when you're crying"
If I had to choose just one word to describe "Doughboy Hollow", it would be "magnificent". Fortunately, I can use as many words as I please, so here they are: wonderful, sublime, magical, brilliant, extraordinary. Music fans all have their "all time favourite" lists and "desert island" albums, magazines continue to publish similar "ultimate" compilations. Well, if I had my way, this album would ...

Turning Point1 review
Jim Adkins

Independant, 2002

Turning Point~Jim Adkins
This is a excellent recording, very smooth. I had the opportunity to see a live performance by him on July 13. Jim is from the same area where I live central Vinginia Richmond area,I picked a copy while attending his concert which was also excellent. Jim might not be as well known as some smooth jazz artist but talent wise he just as good or even better. So if you decide to by this CD you will ...

The String Quartet Tribute to A Perfect Circle6 reviews
Billy Howerdel

Vitamin Records, 2004

Sweet
I've always liked A Perfect Circle. This has got to be one of the best CD's i've heard in a long time. The instrumentation is very precise and is very well done. Hearing my favorite songs through strings is one of the coolest things i've ever heard. If you don't like classical music, give it a shot anyway. I highly recommend it.

The Hollow of Morning4 reviews
Gemma Hayes

SECOND MOTION, 2008

Another great record from Gemma!
Here's another great record from Gemma Hayes. I've enjoyed all of her previous outings. It's criminal that neither this new one nor the stunning The Roads Don't Love You are available through a domestic label. The masses should be feeding on these spare, tender songs. Excellent organic pop with feeling. Highly recommended to fans of Stina Nordenstam, Nina Persson, and Sam Phillips.

Hollow and Drifting6 reviews
Ryebender

Last Train Records, LLC., 2008

Road Music
I posted a review yesterday after reading 3 others. Now they have disappeared into the Amazon Triangle. This is a great CD. Americana, grit, honest lyrical images, back of the neck hair raising harmony vocals, and wonderful guitar tones. Plug this into your car music machine and hit the road. You'll be cross country before you know it, and smiling the entire way. Good pacing, upbeat, ...

Hollow3 reviews
Little Atlas

10T Records, 2007

Hollow will not leave you empty!
"Modern Progressive Rock" is the tag that most reviewers seem to be applying to this band/release, but don't let the word "progressive" scare you away ... this release by Little Atlas ROCKS!!! Steve Katsikas' lyrics on Hollow are outstanding, intelligently written and thought provoking, and he delivers the vocals with the right amount of emotion for each piece, as the songs are kinda ...
