skeptical at first
My brother was the one who introduced me to Feist. He followed Leslie Feist's work with Broken Social Scene, admiring her musical talent and willingness to experiment. He started putting songs from Let It Die onto mix CDs for me. I loved the music; it was unlike anything I had ever heard before yet strangely nostalgic. A few months after becoming acquainted with "Mushaboom" and "Secret ...

A modern classic
Rock is perhaps the sharpest stand-up working today (though Carlin is still trenchant, to say the least), and this is his peak. Crafting a well-nigh perfect performance using his pissed-off ghetto persona, Rock hits the bull's eye again and again here. His delivery is razor-sharp, the material pretty much flawless; this will still be hilarious in fifty years. I've seen hundreds of stand-up ...

Surpassed expectations
I purchased this CD for dual use: for my clients, and for my children. I was hopeful that it would be useful, but since I know I am quite critical of relaxation/imagery CDs given my expertise as an art therapist, psychologist, hypnotherapist who creates imagery, and conducts relaxation training, I didn't expect to be as impressed as I was. Not only did kids like it, but wanted to listen to it ...

Feedback from REAL TEENS!
I know from actual teens that this is an amazing relaxation process! It's very peaceful and understanding. It's very good for teens dealing with anxiety, anger or just everyday stress! It really prepares you for everyday situations by teaching you breathing exercises and affirmations so you know what to do next time you feel stressed or anxious! A real winner!

Awesome transaction!
Great service from the seller! DVD and packaging in excellent shape. And, the content was much better than I expected. I bought this for the Pink Floyd reunion and got that and so much more. The quality of the DVD is amazing and the backstage footage is fun - it would be nice to have had more of that, though. It's a phenomonal collection and I'm really glad I purchased it. Thank you, Amazon!

The 3rd World: Bringing it Home
This album is awesome! I'm kind of biased, I'm a huge fan. Nevertheless, this album doesn't disappoint. Dj Green Lantern brings in a wide variety of tracks, a lot of jazzy stuff, that gives the album a great, almost old school feel. And of course, the lyrics are sophisticated, biting, sometimes funny, and always well-informed. Buy it! Support independent hip hop!

The planets aligned
There will probably never be another production with this much magic involved. The time was the Berlin Wall coming down, the place was Berlin. The crowd numbered in the tens of thousands. Luck and God was on their side to pull this off in so little time. AMAZING!!! There could not have been a better celebration of such a historical event in time.

Great movie
I am a high school Biology teacher and every year I show this film to my students as an introduction to our study on Genetics and Heredity. This is a great film that illustrates how the Human Genome Project began and examines the potential ethical dilemmas as well as potential benefits the completion of this project may have for society. Rarely can I show a "science" film and have so many ...

Buena Vista Social Club is an Experience in Cuban Music.
This critically acclaimed album is a favorite for many reasons. The Buena Vista Social Club was a popular club in Havana that held dances during the 1940s and 50s. This 14-song album not only features many of the veteran musicians who performed at that club during the height of its popularity, but also includes Cuban musician Juan de Marcos González and American guitarist Ry Cooder (who ...

He could sing the phone book
Ibrahim Ferrer could sing the phone book and I would be enthralled. The man's voice was a treasure. This CD is not quite as good as Buena Vista Social Club, but almost nothing is. It's not as exciting as BVSC, but Ferrer is gone now, and any little phrase he sang is better than tons of other people's work.

I love this CD. There is a not a bad song on it. My absolute favorite is their cover version of the Johnny Cash song, "Ring of Fire". It totally rocks!

Rage Live at Grand Olympic
I am only doing the review for this dvd and not all three that I bought, which they were all three of Rage's dvd's. I dont think you should really take my review as a legitimate review. Rage is my favorite band of all time. Zach and Tom are two of my idols and inspiration, so of course I am going to have a really bias review for all three of their dvd's I bought. If I was getting paid to tell the ...

Amazing!
I just recently learned of this album, and have listened to it several times in the last few days, and am playing it now. I can't get enough of it. It's catchy as hell, fun, creative, and it rocks. What more can you want? While the songs are not without tension, it imparts to me a feeling of bliss like a carefree summer day, with its often breezy melodies and laid-back, jazzy ...

Dr. West and a who's-who of hip hop provide aural relief
Dr. West lays out his take on the American psyche along with the support of Black Men Who Mean Business. Including a diverse selection of artists from Rhymefest to KRS ONE, Prince to Andre 3000, Dr. West attempts to soothe America's pain as we have become what he calls a 'Blues people.' Talib Kweli opens this album with his always powerful indictment of the powers that be--his track alone is ...

A wonderful listen
This album is as good as I'd hoped it would be. I love Kevin Drew's "Spirit If"--and this is the perfect, if somewhat edgier, companion. The track list covers lots of musical ground and it's a wonderful listen each step of the way. A terrific CD. Punk's Not Dead
Mvd Visual, 2008
Punk Rock's Thirty Years and Going Strong.
"Punk's Not Dead" gets its point across through interviews with upwards of 100 members of punk bands past and present and lots of footage of punk then and now. The film has three vaguely delineated parts: The first is a whirlwind history of punk from its do-it-yourself birth in the 1970s, through a lull in the 1980s, and moving into the mainstream in the 1990s. The second part focuses on the ...
