Violin Strings?
I ordered these strings to replace the broken g string on my violin. After taking the violin to a repair shop for unrelated issues, the guy said that string was not a violin string but rather a classical guitar string. He was kind enough to replace it for free. So, I've learned my lesson. No more economy violin strings.

Just Buy It...
I'm a newbie to bass, but I've studied guitar since my teens. I bought the Ibanez bass starter kit a few months ago and even though the strings on that sound OK and basically do the job, the round wound strings naturally pick up a lot of that hand slide noise when you move from one position to another. These strings cut that unwanted noise back quite dramatically. Plus they just sound so ...

Rotosound
The most popular Roundwound bass string ever. Rotosound was the first string company to produce this kind of string. Introduced in 1962 it changed the sound of the instrument instantly. The favourite string of many players including Billy Sheehan, John Paul Jones and Geddy Lee. Available in all popular gauges and scale lengths. The steel used to produce these strings is unique, combined with a highly secretive manufacturing process.

Great Strings!
As a bass player who truly loves 4 string basses, these strings are the best. I have a hipshot tuner that I use to drop my E string down to a D on occasion, and these strings keep that low nice and tight. My issue with 5 string basses is the noodley feeling B string. These Roto's provide a much tighter sound when played below standard E tuning. These strings, once broken in, stay in tune. I ...

REAL nice flat wound bass strings
I've been using the Rotosound RS77LDs on my 4 string fretless bass for about 2 months now. I normally use Thomastik-Infeld JF344s. I LOVE the feel of Thomastiks. The Rotos do not feel as soft and rope-like. If you've never tried TI flatwounds, you owe it to yourself to try them. You'll see what i mean. TIs ARE well worth the $40-50 you'll pay for them. BUT the Roto RS77LDs i'm reviewing here have ...

Ok, so they're just guitar strings...
But they're the best I've ever played on. I've tried Slinky, D'Addario, Blue Steel, Elixir, Boomers, and DR...and I honestly feel that Rotos just blow them away. They feel comfortable, last quite a while, and the price is right where it should be. Obviously, string feel under the fingers is a very subjective thing and guitar players are notoriously picky folk. So understandably, your take may ...

these strings are the best for fretless
I like these so much that I put a set on my other fretless bass. I have played gigs where I never even grabbed my fretted bass because I was having so much fun playing the fretless. These are mellow, and silky mooth, and very easy on the hands. Plus, they should last much longer since the nylon should protect the underlying metal. Some people would probably think these sound too dull, but I am ...

I put these strings on my Hohner Classical yesterday and they are great. First of all they feel good and are soft to the touch. The sound is really mellow. I had no problems attaching the strings (my first experience) thank to you tube. They showed me how to tie of the ends. After one day I have to keep tuning the stings. After about five adjustments they seem to be holding. If you are ...

Great strings
I recently bought a 2009 Gibson SG bass (a model that has a pretty short scale neck), and I was looking for a good set of strings to go on the bass. I tried these and love them. Very unique sound and easy to play on. The tone is deep and subtle, not too overpowering in a mix-- a very good thing when playing in a band. The reviewer who complained that these strings did not work well on his ...

A matter of taste
I'm not going to say these are bad strings, I just don't care for the sound of the wrapped strings. I prefer the warmer sound of the bronze wrapped strings. I had never used this type before and thought I'd give them a try. To me they sound a little thinner than the bronze. I think this is just a matter of taste and possibly the guitar you put them on.

To much hype
After buying my Spector bass I decided to try these strings. I was not impressed at all, they almost sound wore out right out of the package. I will never buy these again. I'm going back to GHS until I find something else I like better. Perhaps they would sound better on a different brand bass (different wood). Maybe a solid maple body with neck thru.
