Sid Meiers Civilization IV Beyond the Sword68 reviews

Windows | 2K Games, 2007

LOVE Civ IV...HATE long, protracted battle
In terms of $$$ per hour of play, this has got to be the best deal in an expansion pack since Ultima VII! Did you ever load up Civ IV, then cringe when you up against a violence-prone leader like Salidin or Boudica? Groan, not more fighting to get in the way of my culture-based Civilization! "Beyond The Sword" can help make Civ IV fun again. This expansion pack adds lots of new AI ...

Star Wars Empire At War Gold Pack (PC DVD)6 reviews

Windows | LucasArts Entertainment, 2007

AMAZON'S PICTURE IS MISLEADING (thanks JJAV)
I like Star Wars as well as your average 30-something red-blooded American male, but I am by no means a fanboy; in fact, I have found that most Star Wars related games in the past decade are kind of 'meh'. With that said, I loved the original Empires at War, it was a great game that combined a strategic game of planet conquering with two types of RTS games in which you fought for control of ...

Star Wars: The Best of PC (Empire at War, Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Battlefront, Republic ...27 reviews

Windows | Lucas Arts Entertainment Co. LLC, 2006

Bought it for two titles: KotOR & EAW
Some slight spoilers: After suffering through the LEGO Star Wars titles, I needed a really good light saber wielding game to rekindle my interest in the Jedi. In the back of my mind I remembered something about Knights and decided to see if it was still on the shelf, and I found this package deal with another game similar to Warlords Battlecry, another favorite of mine. Perfect! Knights ...

Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties Expansion Pack

Windows | Microsoft, 2007

Japan, China, and India still wield significant power and influence over the world economy and thought in the 21st century. It's astounding to witness their evolution over millenia as powerful dynasties. Add this RTS to your version of Age of Empires 3! "Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties" is the second expansion pack for the massively popular "Age of Empires III" from Ensemble Studios and Microsoft Game Studios, which has sold over 2.5 ...

It introduces all-new gameplay elements, new civilizations to discover, random maps to conquer and a single-player campaign unlike any other. New lighting and shadow effects, in a game world designed to have real physics ...

Age Of Empires III14 reviews

Macintosh | Destineer, 2006

Age of Empires didn't get worse; other games got better
I think this is a really fun game. It has lots to do and some nice improvements over Age 2. The reason people don't seem to be liking this one so much is that it's nothing revolutionary. Age of Empires 2 was far better than other games in the genre, and AOE 3 isn't, but it's still a great game that's well worth the money.

Sins of a Solar Empire62 reviews

Windows | Stardock, 2008

Bombing planets? Where do I sign up?
By doing a real-time strategy game mixed with elements from turn-based games (or 4x as they call it; Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate), Sins was doing something daring. They succeeded, to an extent. First, it should be noted that although this game will work on most computers, it is capable of bringing the most powerful machines to their knees. Sins allows players to build a map with ...

Age of Empires: The Age of Kings66 reviews

Nintendo DS | Majesco Sales Inc., 2006

Best Strategy Game on DS (until Civ:Rev)
When AoE came out for the DS, it was the best strategy game on the system, bar none. It's been eclipsed by Civ:Rev, but it's still a strong 2nd on the DS. If it weren't for the small screen and difficulty in recognizing units, this game would score almost perfect. Can't wait for sequel that they're working on. Hope the sequel has Wifi support also, and user created maps.

Jade Empire32 reviews

Xbox | Microsoft, 2006

Fantastic Game, Fantastic Story, Fantastic Everything!
I'm not one to review games because, well, I think that most games don't deserve to be reviewed. All the "phenomenal" games are great and all, but after playing this game I felt like I had just read a really good book. The story and character development that come along in the game as you play it through is amazing with beautiful scenery, history, and culture within the game as well. The game ...

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire44 reviews

Nintendo 64 | Nintendo

The Best Game in History
Star Wars, Shadows of the Empire, is the best action game in the history of gaming! The levels are extremely challenging, engaging, and action packed! Honestly, if you enhanced the graphics to new standards, this game would be the best game on the market right now! If you love Star Wars, intense fighting, puzzle solving, and difficult gameplay, you will love this game! I beat it around 6 ...

Europa Universalis III17 reviews

Windows | ValuSoft, a Division of THQ, Inc., 2007

Very Addicitve
This game in my opinion is the best earth strategy game that I have encountered since Civilization IV. Game play is very addictive due to the long period of time it takes to accomplish your goals, i.e. colonization, expansion and construction. In agreement with some of the other comments, I do wish the tech tree moved faster but if you are any good with programming, that is easily changed. ...

Jade Empire Special Edition10 reviews

Windows | Take 2 Interactive, 2007

Excellent, Inexpensive, Enjoyable Game
If you've managed to play or see "Neverwinter Nights 2", this game's graphics match or excel it--a significant feat considering that NWN2 is over a year newer, and has extremely steep system requirements that prevent it from working well on most PCs. This game isn't turn-based in combat as NWN/DnD is; you live and die by how fast you use your skills. There are plenty of areas in experience and ...

Caesar IV59 reviews

Windows | Vivendi Universal, 2006

Spiffy
Its fun, challenging, and if you have played the previous Casears, slightly different because its more in a 3-D mode. However, the game does take a lot of the computer's resources and runs a little slow, even on new machines. I have a state of the art computer and had to turn down the games settings.

1701 A.D.35 reviews

Windows | Aspyr Media, 2006

Very fun and engrossing
I've been playing this game for 6 months (since Jan 2008), logging over 300 hours of game-play (which it tracks for you), and it is still my favorite game. Before this game, I played SimCity 4 and CivCity: Rome. (BTW, I also tried SimCity Societies, but I don't even consider that a game, and so you will hear no more mention of it here). The game is more fun than all other city-builder games ...

Star Wars Empire At War: Forces Of Corruption16 reviews

Windows | LucasArts Entertainment, 2006

Fantastically Entertaining.
I'm not going to go into details as you can read the previous reviewers' posts. This game is extremely entertaining (and difficult) in story mode. But I find myself enjoying the galactic conquests more and more. The add-on to Star Wars EAW has one particular map in which 55 planets are available for you to corrupt, liberate, or conquer. Resectively, you can play as either of the 3 factions. The ...
