Tom Berenger, Billy Dee Williams

Starz / Anchor Bay, 2000

Surprisingly good

+ Just seedy enough.
+ UK DVD worse

I have seen this movie in VHS at least a dozen times, although I never remember seeing it in the theaters. It has a terrific cast, a good story, great strip scenes and awesome fight scenes. Something for everyone. I was so glad to see it in DVD, since my VHS copy had self-destructed.

An Exotic Brazilian Film: "Lower City" Features Great Characters Unsupported By A Convincing Screenplay

I didn't know what to expect from the Brazilian film "Lower City." Having no preconceived notions, I was rather intrigued by the synopsis--"a prostitute comes between two lifelong friends." (That probably tells you more about me than I'd like to admit, huh?) Well, who says there isn't truth in ...

City Heat12 reviews
Clint Eastwood, Burt Reynolds

Warner Home Video, 2003

Very funny and underrated

+ Great film
+ Under-rated

I think the humor in this film is a little to sophisticated for most Clint and/or Burt fans but this is a great movie. This is a very intelligent comedy that many people just wont get. I have read that people think the actors gave wooden preformances, that's what the parts call for. This film has ...

Bottom line, whether you love or hate "Kansas City" will depend on your reaction to Jennifer Jason Leigh's performance. Leigh looks great in this role, she is fit and trim ...
