Acing Your First Year of Law School: The Ten Steps to Success You Won't Learn in Class 25 reviews Shana Connell Noyes, Henry S. Noyes
Fred B. Rothman & Company, 1999
Very useful
+ Just get it - great intro!
One of the blogs I read in anticipation of my first year was authored by an obviously succesfull student and he recommended this book. Shame he is a commie. An outline on your first year with a solid emphasis on legal writing, outlining and exams. I found the legal writing section to be very useful ...

A Must-Have Organizational Tool for Any Professional (or Gamer)
+ I'm looking for a product like this, just not sure this is the one + I Love OneNote
I used MS OneNote daily at work to keep track of documentation and to save and organize canned emails. This program has saved me a lot of time that might otherwise be spent organizing folders and folders of hundreds of MS Word documents.
One of the features I love is that you can highlight ...

Gilbert Law Summaries: Criminal Law
+ Straightforward Black Letter Outline + Crash Course on Crimes
This is an excellent book. It is clear and easy to read. Of all the material that we are using in my law school, this one is the most information dense. In fact, it condences information from the lectures, casebook, and handouts from class.
We are told to concentrate on the casebook and ...

Great Resource for Finals and the Whole Semester
+ Have you ever had your dreams come true?
These cards are the best resource for ace-ing your exam. I only got them about a week before my finals. I read through them completely three times and then went over my weak areas again. I got an "A" on the exam. I really recommend getting these cards for every law school class. I think I ...

Planet Law School II: What You Need to Know (Before You Go), But Didn't Know to Ask... and No One Else Will ... 142 reviews Atticus Falcon
Fine Print Press, 2003
Must Have Book For Law School Success
This is by far the best book to help those planning on going to law school. I have read many others and this is the only one that actually tells you the good, the bad, and the ugly. It also tells you how to get a head start on law school so that when you get there you won't feel quite so ...

Contracts: Examples and Explanations (Examples & Explanations Series) 27 reviews Brian A. Blum
Aspen Publishers, 2004
Dense, but good
+ Fantastic first year contracts book! + Between Corbin & Emanual
This has a different feel from Glannon's CivPro book in this series. This book has A LOT more substance. But I'm loving it. Adding an 800 page supplement to your textbook reading can be tough, but if you can manage it, I've found it well worth it.
