Very enjoyable-but only for a certain type of viewer. . .
+ Intense and subtle + Actually, a pretty good flick...
PTU is, unmistakably, a Johnnie To film. That being said, it is not one of his most accessible films. The first time I watched it I felt a bit underwhelmed when it was over. But, being that it was a JT film, I decided to watch all the extras and give it another look. JT is one of those rare ...
This is a piece of pure cinema. Uncompromising, unapologetic, as raw in its portrait of violence as it is disgusted by it. Here, violence has reasons (not justifications, mind that), and is a spiral that sucks your entire life if you let yourself be gotten into it. It is not a mindless form of ...
Chow Yun-Fat stars as an assassin with a code of honor who agrees to one final job. When his employers double-cross him, he must join forces with the police to confront the mob in one of the most explosive showdowns in film history.
+ this movie is cool + a strong sequal to a film that's hard to beat
Jackie Chan is one of the best martial artist and stuntmaster. In this movie, i think he put everything he has to show how good he is and how well the stunts and the fight scenes are. Talking about fight scenes, they blow me away. They are execute with precision and power. I really like this movie ...
A flawed and highly overrated movie! If you're into Asian cinema, you've seen it all before
Superb production values aside--and really, what Korean movies AREN'T well made these days?--NO MERCY FOR THE RUDE has a lot of the elements that, when viewed in too many consecutive movies (which can happen in this country's films), tend to shift people away from Korean cinema for short periods of ...
I like this movie. I just purchased it last night and I watched immediately. I loved the beauty and the way it was shot. I am a huge fan of Wuxia and this is going to my collection. The only big issue i had with this film was that the movie seemed so drawn out.
Wouldn't be suprised if people died making this!?!?
+ This movie is crazy
The stunts really are that gonzo in this! During the incredible opening sequence, that involves a brawl on the top of 2 parallel moving tractor trailers, a goon gets knocked down between them and his head looks literally INCHES from being crushed by a tire! I had to watch this scene 5 or 6 times ...
"The Departed" meets "Mulholland Drive" meets "Infernal Affairs"
+ Flawed but still good.
I don't think this is overrated one bit; a travelogue of madness, corruption, and the looming shadow of slain innocence, "INF3" is damn near perfect. Andy Lau definitely takes the cake here as the corrupt and just about totally crazy Inspector Ming, now head of Internal Affairs.
The dreamlike ...
Infernal Affairs II is one prequel you definitely shouldn't see before the original - so much of the interest comes from spotting throwaway details that assume more importance in the original film, and the character revelations are far more fascinating if you've seen the original. Take the opening ...
+ Jacky Wu IS the next Jet Li! + Excellent Action Movie That Shatters Genre Clichés
Jacky Wu is the man this movie was really good. The end was a little to dramatic for me, but overall I enjoyed the movie. The fight he has to throw was good, so was the one in that fancy room with the brother from Flash point. One of my favorite dragon dynasty titles worth checking out.
