The Reindeer Hunters: 23 reviews
Joan Wolf

Dutton Adult, 1994

Excellent read

+ Not as epic as the first 2 in the series

This is an excellent book for those who want a "light" prehistoric read. Although Wolf lacks detail concerning prehistoric aspects of everyday life, the story is is well written and very entertaining.

The Reindeer Christmas3 reviews
Moe Price

Voyager Books, 1997

Beautifully illustrated!

+ What a great book!
+ A holiday charmer for all ages!

Without a doubt, Morozumi's illustrations are the most beautiful we have seen. The story tells of Santa's decision to use reindeer instead of other animals to make his deliveries. Read this book to see how they were chosen. This continues to be a favorite in our household.

Atheneum/Richard Jackson Books, 2004

Antlers Away!

+ "I love this book!" says my 4 year old

This very funny book teaches numbers, but it also entertains and surprises in a very big way. Author Lisa Wheeler and illustrator Brian Flocci are simultaneously smart and zany; they don't dumb down the humor for kids, and their septet of oddball reindeers seem like they've come from an ...

A Holly Jolly Christmas! (Shaped Coloring Book)1 review
Golden Books

Golden Books, 2004

Fine, but the so-called story is pretty poor

I know it's just a colouring book, but really, the story line is pretty bad. It's sort of the Rudolph story (as in the song) but has some uncommon tangents, and it's really not very well written. Obviously one can just ignore the text and focus on the pictures, which is what we've done.

"I want to be a dentist!"

+ True to the movie, but nice and easy for Preschoolers.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and Hermey the elf are simple misfits in Santa's Christmastown. They set off together and manage to find others who also are unique individuals, e.g., Yukon Cornelius, the toys of the Island of Misfit Toys, and the Abominable Snowman ("Bumbles Bounce!"). You will ...
