Family Blessings 40 reviews LaVyrle Spencer
Jove, 1995
A romance novel in disguise
+ Great descriptive writing
I purchased this book thinking it was about family tragedy. It is and it isn't. It's really a novel about a love affair between an older woman and a younger man and the obstacles they face. It's a good read and I highly recommend it.

Small Town Girl
+ Spencer's best + I loved it!
I started reading LaVyrle Spencers books by accident. There were some books being given away in the break room at work and I thought the book was 'The Blessing' rather it was 'Family Blessings'. I WAS HOOKED!!! I finished this book ('Small Town Girl') last night and it was WONDERFUL!! I was ...

The Fulfillment 18 reviews LaVyrle Spencer

So touching...
+ Except for the predictable ending, this story is almost perfect! + Found By mistake.. But Loved it
My heart still aches over this one! I saw the made for TV movie that this book was based upon before reading it, and the movie DID NOT do it justice! Oh, this book was so good. Don't read LaVyrle if you are looking for tawdy bodice rippers. She writes tender and softly moving stories that will ...

More Than Friends 28 reviews Barbara Delinsky
William Morrow, 2006
One indiscretion ripples into the lives of others forever
+ Audios are great to "CARPOOL" with. + How can you go wrong?
The book is hard to put down because you feel you know these people as you sit on the sidelines and watch their lives unfold. One incident in the quiet of a day one thinks goes unnoticed leads to the unhappiness of two families.......how they recover is the beauty of the text. The characters feel ...

Forgiving 11 reviews LaVyrle Spencer
Jove, 1992
A good book with a great ending...
+ Sometimes forgiving is hard to do...but must be done! + Memorable....
"Forgiving" was certainly not my favorite book, but it was still an entertaining one. It tells the tale of a woman named Sarah. Sarah comes to the Dakotas to find her estranged sister and to start a newspaper in the mostly male town of Deadwood. Obviously in a town where the population of men is in ...

Coast Road: A Novel 92 reviews Barbara Delinsky

Hush Little Baby, Don't You Cry ...
+ GREAT + Extraordinary!
COAST ROAD being the 6th novel I'd read of BD's work, I had begun to notice that her fiction creates a state of mind similar to what one of my readers (a US Marine) described about my work, "I was reading and reading, and all of a sudden I realized I had forgotten I was reading and felt I was just ...

A Knight in Shining Armor 449 reviews Jude Deveraux
Pocket, 2002
Perfect Dream
+ Funny and romantic + Memorable , Deveraux's best
I read this novel after I read "Legend" and I fell in love with it. After reading Legend, I almost thought I'd be disappointed with Deveraux's next novel because Legend was so amazing. But I was far from it. " A knight in Shining Armor" keeps you on your toes, you do not want to put the book down. ...

Even though I don't read much in this genre anymore, this still has to be my all time favorite book. The characters are written with such life to them that I could picture them clearly in my mind. The Hellion 12 reviews LaVyrle Spencer
Jove, 1989
One of My Favorite LaVyrle Books
+ Lovely! + Rachel & Tommy Lee's love was meant to be
The Hellion is one of those books I find myself returning to again and again. Although not one of her most sophisticated or complex plots - it is, as other reviewers here have pointed out, somewhat predictable - there is noone better than LaVyrle at creating genuinely likeable, engaging ...
