Suddenly, my favorite

+ Pretty true to the story, however strangely uncatching
+ Jonathan's Wonderland

This is the most complex movie rendering of Carroll's classic, and one of the stranger ones. It's a 1966 BBC production in black and white, and done on a shoestring budget. As a result, there's just about nothing in the way of special effects - and certainly no animal-shaped costumes for the ...

Ever Wonder What You're Missing?

+ GO ASK ALICE ... WHEN SHE'S 10 FEET TALL ...
+ A Delightful, Sexy Romp . . .

Those of us who are fans of the "Drive-In" movie genre have long been familiar with this quirky, sexy take on Alice's adventures. The "R" rated version shown in the 70's was strangely charming, making Alice seem both delightfully naive and extremely sexy. The original songs and musical numbers ...

The Only Alice Movie that Really Gets It

+ Some people here didn't get it...I did..
+ A Bit Rushed at the Beginning

No, this is not 100% true to the book. Obviously not, since it starts in the present and stars an adult Alice. But it is one of the few Alices that keeps to the events of the one book, instead of blending both, and it is the only one I have seen to successfully convey the absurdism, the ...

ALICE IN WONDERLAND: A Dance Fantasy4 reviews
Prague Chamber Ballet; Czech Philharmonic Orchestra

View, Inc., 2007

strange and beautiful dance fantasy

+ A strange delight!

This dance fantasy inspired by Alice in Wonderland is quite unique. The music, costumes, and sets are all wonderful. A most lovely Alice and a stern Queen are the two main characters. Yes, this story begins with dark and sinister overtones, but that is to reflect the personality of the Queen and ...

Alice in Wonderland2 reviews

Digiview Productions

Cute adaptation and acceptable DVD.

I got this for $1 at Family Dollar, and actually quite enjoyed it. The quality of the artwork in the animation is pretty much Saturday morning TV show/straight-to-video quality, which is what it was made for in 1988 in Australia. The transfer is a bit grainy and soft, but for a $1 DVD, it's quite ...

Great Find

+ Good...not great.
+ a rare treat for theatre fans

I remember watching this on PBS when I was a kid and I was so excited to see this on DVD. It's a great production with a great cast. I like that the play features both Alice in Wonderland AND Through the Looking Glass. As a Lewis Carroll fan I was happy to see how closely the play follows the books.
