Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007

Neuroanatomy a big deal for USMLE step 1

+ Good but not Great

It is a well done book for preparing USMLE step 1. In addition, there are questions like the USMLE test that can help the student to pass it. I also recommend it for neurologists and neuroradiologists, because there are a lot of CT and MRI scans!

BRS Gross Anatomy Review

+ Gross anatomy review
+ Great review

Very succint review of all of gross anatomy. The pictures are okay, but you should probably keep an atlas of human anatomy around. The questions after each chapter are indicative of the questions I've experienced in medical school. Overall, this is probably the best way to prepare for class and ...

Better than the Rest

+ Great addition
+ Pricey, but more thorough than many other atlases

A friend of mine recently introduced me to this book and I have to say, I'm impressed. It's fantastic! I studied anatomy in my first year of med school so I'm familiar with the other big Atlases (Netter's, Gray's, Gosling's, Grant's...) but in my opinion this book surpasses them all. It's the ...

Very nice if you hate Langman.

+ a good beginners book
+ Great book

UAMS listed Langman's Medical Embryology as our required embryo book. I hate Langman with a passion, as you can tell in my review of it. It is poorly written, contains less than useful 2-D figures making it difficult to visualize morphologic changes, and contains at least two errors in every single ...

Excellent Text!

+ THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OR AN ATLAS, BUT A GOOD TEXT!
+ Its got talent

This is an excellent text no matter what health profession you are in. I very rarely read the text. The pictures accompanied with the tables are basically what I used. You would see the picture and have a table of origin, insertion, action and nerve. If you really want to go into depth then you can ...

+ Rapid Review Histology and Cell Biology: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access (Rapid Review)

I like this book for my histology class because it has a great online link to a lot of questions, questions in the back of the book (USLME style) and it has amazing succinct info on histology. If you're a med student and don't have time for your histology class, this will teach you what you need ...

Good text for grad level course

+ Good - in parts

I am currently teaching my first year of medical biochemistry and this book is a nice balance. Not as "hard core" on the chemistry as Voet & Voet, but more comprehensive than Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews or Baynes and Dominiczak's Medical Biochemistry. Similar in depth to Marks' Basic Medical ...

Many years ago I used the great Noback and Demarest text in grad school, but books like these are a big improvement over what was available back when I was in school. The illustrations are nothing less than stunning, and the text is clear and well written as well. It's more readable than many texts ...
