This is an excellent book on C#. I use it as a reference all the time for my ASP.NET dev. It's almost as big as the Learning C# book by the same author.
+ Fairly good structure; Mostly for VB.NET programmers
I've been reading O'Reilly since the days of the tiny fifty page staple-bound brown Nutshell books that covered shell commands and the first version of Perl. This book is that has taken that same approach to data condensation and applied it to everything you need to know about ASP.NET. And extend ...
Okay--I don't dream in code often, and I don't make a living by programming. I do it for fun. I don't have any of the expensive versions of Visual Studio--just the "Standard", cheapie one. With that said, I love having the framework laid out for me. The fact that it integrates into VS is a big ...
+ The best first C# book I know of. + Great Book!!
Cruising through book stores, I usually encounter the 800 page behemoths that 'teach you programming in 24 hours' or something similar. I suppose those are good for getting you programming with lots of examples.
However, I like to think I'm a pretty good programmer, having grown up with Pascal, ...

Excellent reference, and a good introduction to ADO
+ The best way to learn ADO.NET + A long time Oracle and Mysql programmer learns the basics of ADO.NET + Microsoft MVP 2005 - Visual C# loves this one + Incredible!
+ A better quick reference than MSDN online. + C# in a Nutshell - Supports my day-to-day efforts
This book is not a "teach yourself C#"; it is only a reference text. If you are experienced in another programming language, however, you can use this reference to easily find the syntax required by C#. The book is a quick reference useful for programmers who like to have a paper copy reference on ...
+ Great foundation for Visual Basic.NET + Great for First Time Programmers As Well
Superb book, especially for people with good amount of VB6 experience. I myself have around 7 years of VB experience (started with VB 3 in college) and before stumbling upon this title, I tried the Sam's series and was greatly disppointed since such "beginner" books devote a great deal to the ...
This might just be the only C# book you'll ever need
+ Good writing style, lots of good content.
A natural first step for me when looking for a book is to see what O'Reilly has available. This book was the first hit in my search results. And that hit was a homerun. Jesse Liberty has written a rare Dot Net book, a book that does not waste precious text (read time) editorializing on the ...
I have to admit that when I picked up a copy of this book, I was expecting a rather out of date re-hash of much of Microsoft's Visual Studio documentation. I was pleasantly surprised. Even though Visual Studio .NET 2003 only recently became commercially available, this book is written for the new ...
I'm a guy who has been programming professionally since 1994. Many, even most, of the contracts I have worked on have been VB contracts. I've been on board with VB since version 3. I was one of the many who were completely thrown off by the conversion to VB.NET, hence I decided to switch to C# ...
