Has problems with Panther (10.3)
I got Retrospect Express (OEM) 5.1 with purchase of a Maxtor A01A250 firewire drive. The Maxtor info didn't mention the version number of Retrospect Express shipping with the drive. After installing Retrospect, I discovered that it didn't perform automatic backups properly under OS X 10.3 (Panther) when you have fast user switching enabled. Nothing better for backups
Pure and simple: Retrospect just works. Yes, it's a little confusing to initially set up, but once you've got it configured, I don't know of any better solution for backing up local or remote machines, be they Windows, Mac, or Linux, to any kind of backup media you can imagine: hard drive arrays, tape drives, optical discs, etc. Great product.
