Great fun for the kids!
I have 3 children, ages 3, 5 and 6, and they all find something to enjoy in this software. My 3 year old can't play all the games, but he can play some, and there's plenty to keep his brothers interested as well. I like what they're learning from these games--solid math, spelling and reading skills. They play it so much on the computer at the library, that I'm getting it for our home computer.

Regarding the glitchy or slow mouse control
This game is not perfect but it is loads of fun. The graphics are excellent and so is the gameplay. However, I will get to the point regarding the glitchy mouse control. Don't bother getting patches 1.05 or whatever some people here have been suggesting. My computer runs on Windows XP and I had the same problems when I first ran the program. Super-easy fun with art
This is the first CDRom I have purchased for my 12 month old. I popped in the CD with him on my lap and immediately began creating fun pictures. Coming from an MS Word environment, I was Adobe-resistant, but I had a book to get publisher ready so, in one week, with the help of this book, I learned to love InDesign by zipping through this book and the included CD ROM tutorial. Well worth the price. This is an excellent training manual.

The coolest Mac program ever that was.
I love this game. You can mix and match your favourite characters, add on all the starship systems you like, and send your starships on missions. the part I didn't like was that all the starships followed a traditional design, and you can't create anything completely original. Other than that, this is a blast! (and a phaser blast at that)
