Adober Acrobat 6.0 Standard
I have used this personally so purchased it for the office. (Someone in the office had purchased the 7.0 Professional Upgrade--but I had nothing to upgrade. By the time I got around to purchasing Standard, I could not find either 6.0 or 7.0 Standard anywhere, except at Amazon.com.) Upon receipt, it was exactly what I had purchased and the price could not be beat.

First worthy upgrade since version 5.0

Acrobat is actobat, you are stuck with it
If you only need to print to a PDF there are free products available. Unfortunately we need to scan to PDF's and there are not any less expensive options available. The product does all of the basic PDF manipulation and OCR.

I bought this at school at the student price (about a quarter of the price) and really, if I wanted acrobat, they only offer pro. That being said, I am not totally aware of all the various things that pro will do compared to the other versions, however, it has been great for me so far. NITRO PDF, Excellent Product
Excellent product. I have used all of the Adobe suit in my business and I would say that this matches up very well for the price. I had some trouble registering it online which is kinda normal these days, also the fact that it "stamps" pdfs with its brand name can erk sometimes. Overall though, very easy to use and a nice product for the price point.

watch your upgrade path
Adobe Customer Service surprised me by telling me, after taking my money, that upgrading version of acrobat in Creative Suite is not a valid path for this upgrade. So if you have many copies of Creative Suite 2 -- the only legal way to obtain an upgrade for Acrobat is to upgrade your entire Creative Suite package.
