Hoyle Card Games 2009

There is plenty of room for 2010 improvements
First remark: a substantial portion of the "150 games" are in the solitaire section. So the choices are much more limited if you are not looking for solitaire. The graphics are pleasant, although the characters don't match those on the manual (!), but they are amusing. I find the cards a little tricky to read. Besides, it's very confusing (and irritating) that the user cannot re-arrange the ...

Pass On 2009
If you already have the 2008 version, stick with that and forget about this 2009 version. If you don't have 2008, buy that instead of 2009. The only new games are some Big Bang games, and they are hardly enough to recommend this "update". You are forced to play with a snarky little Geni (I guess that is what he is), and these classic games are neither particulary interesting or engaging. One ...

Scrabble, great fun!
I'd owned Scrabble CD for two years after being given one for a birthday--then I moved, and I couldn't find my CD. I looked and looked, and I finally ordered a new one. I really enjoy playing on the computer with Maven. It is a mini-vacation, takes me away from everyday and puts things into perspective. I recommend Scrabble CD!

Visually beautiful, Addictive fun, Nonviolent
This is a relaxing computer game with no violence or ethical drawbacks. It is mentally stimulating to solve. Several different game modes are available and the gorgeous computer design is a feast for the eyes. It can induce a tranquil, almost meditative state. I used it as an aid to deal with post-traumatic stress syndrome from a car accident. By playing the game before bedtime I was able to ...

Monopoly 2008
I like this version better than the orginal version of Monopoly because it makes it more reallistic. It is more like 3-D and with the added items like the police paddy wagon you think that peace is going to jail compared to just jumping across the board. Free Parking you get the money when in the orginal you didn't get it.

Beware - Can be ADDICTIVE!!
I LOVE Scrabble! I have had as many as 6 different types of the game - travel editions to deluxe and I really love the computerized version with a handy embedded dictionary and the ability to play alone or with a friend or with a computerized opponent of the level you choose! I have been broadening my skills and vocabulary with every game! I highly recommend this game for word lovers - this ...

An incredible amount of Chess fun and learning for under $20
The reviewer right below has stated it very well, so I won't bore anyone with too many details. This version of Chessmaster contains a true library of things to learn from various Masters of the game and is targeted at the Novice & Intermediate. The tutorials are done in a way that you don't have to be a strong Chess player to follow along. The puzzles, drills and game analysis are excellent ...

Great Escape!
The "Tile Games" in this edition are a lot of fun. What's nice is there are several ways to play them. Our 19 year-old grandson enjoyed it so much, I had to order him one, too. What we liked the most was the "Slide Tiles." It's very addictive. Rummy Squares is also a good one. Any "Seniors" out there would enjoy this, but it's also fun for the teenagers. My recommendation is Go For ...

Harder and more complex than the first Risk.
I have played both versions of risk and while I like both games this version is more of a challenge. You can play three different ways,1. Classic version can be played,2. Tournament, which has many levels with different missions on each level,3. Same Time, which is another level in which all combatants move at the same time. I like the added challenge of same time but you'd better patience and ...

Best Chess Game I've Played
Before owning this game I had a nominal interest in chess. After buying it I now want to play chess all the time. I know all the chess terminology, I can read chess notation and I win most people at chess who are average chess players, like my family and friends for example. I couldn't put this game down for almost a week after I bought it. I'm 29, male, white and I like role playing games. ...

disapointed
The game can only be played by one person not a group. It is great if you want the computer to take over instead of you and friends.

Observant is what you need!
Saw this game at a friends house and as older citizens, it is a fun way to keep the "little grey cells" active! Our interest in Egyptology made it additionally fun. The screens and background adds to the game. Like Mah Jongg... give this game a try!

Ok. I dont have this game for the PC but when i was a kid i had this game for my PS1. If this is like the version for the PS1 then it is SO MUCH FUN.
