Pity My Wife, the Civ II Widow, Again
See my original Civilization II review from way back in 2001, after having played the game for close to five years. I bought Civ III and again Civ IV within days of their release, ran all the way home with them clutched to my chest, and dropped them right into the PC, so eager to get the latest, most awesomely updated, so incredibly tweakified versions up and running. In both instances I was ...

Civ 4 and Beyond the Sword on Vista
If you initially install Civ 4 and then update it through the advanced settings within the game then the expansion pack "Beyond The Sword" with install just fine with Vista. I hope this helps with those who have install issues with Vista and the expansion pack.

Create your civilization then take over all others - too fun
Ok, I got to say that I was afraid of installing this game on my intel macbook I got back in May. I got the mid range model because I wanted something portable for class. Anyway, when I heard that Civilization IV wouldn't work on it because of the integrated graphics card, I was heart broken. I've loved this game for years since I first played Civilization II on my old PC. It made me hold back on ...

All the Problems Are Fixed
I was shocked to see how low this game was rated. After reading the reviews, I found that the early version of this game had a bunch of problems. Rest assured, they are now fixed. Plus you can go online and install recent updates to get the most up-to-date version. This game is a lot of fun and highly addicting. I've always avoided turn-based strategy games in the past so this is my ...

Great game, beautifully done
This is a remarkably fun game. I didn't realize that this was not going to be just another expansion to Civ IV, so I was a little surprised to find that it was really a completely different game. But after I got over my initial confusion, I found myself happily trading tobacco for cotton and guns, placating the natives, defying the British, and sailing the ocean blue! There is a ton of depth ...

Great game, wish I'd bought the Complete Edition
I got to this game a few years after it came out, but I am not at all dissapointed in the content. The only thing I wish is that I'd have bought the complete edition (which I didn't know existed), instead of buying this edition and Beyond the Sword separately.

Spore Review - Mixed Opinions
Spore was first heard of way back in 2005. Back then, the video shown had far more bits in it then what was included in the released version. It promised so much and we got so little. The game seems to have been "dumbed down" and "stupefied" for the mass market (makes it more for The Sims audience then true gamers). One believes they are holding back certain aspects (Like plant-creator, ...

"buy this instead of spore."
I believe that after seeing the reviews for spore I decided not to get it. apparently it is ILLEGAL to play this game with someone else or lend it to them. so that means ONLY you can play it. it also causes problems on your computer, causing your computer to crash, freeze etc.. civ III is a fun game and does allow other people to play it. I highly reccomend this game.

Brain Cells beware, this game will kill allot of you.
Nothing like a good strategy game that will wipe out brain cells when you're depressed and/or lonely. This game is exceptionally fun and Very inspiring, keep the name Stardock in mind. Stardock the makers started off a very small company with good ideas and exceptional programmers, the company is the game, unlike Ubisoft, Atari and other mega-giants who don't even know there product or ...

Another Sid Meiers Civ game pack for the completely and totally addicted
Once again, the Civ IV products are not a disappointment to the totally addicted CIVILIZATION individual. Though we waited a full year to purchase this particular expansion pack, as it did not have a great deal of new items, it was a decidedly good addition to the CIV gaming collection. For the strategy turn/based game enthusiast, the Sid Meiers Civilization games are addicting and interesting. ...

Civ 3
[...] The Civilizations series produces the best strategy games on the market, bar none. The game came in fine working order but the serial number to activate the game was missing. I had to wait a whole weekend to get Aspyr on the phone to get a new one so I could play. In the long run, not the worst thing that could have happened, but it was a serious killjoy when the package arrived.

Civilation III
Absolutely addictive, better than Sim City, rather than building a city, you get to build an empire with CivIII. Tried Civ Complete but found it more difficult to play though the added features were great. In Civilization III, you start with a dark world you have to send explorers out to discover. Build as many cities as you can, trying to add as many luxury items (wine, spice, silk, etc) and ...

There's still wonder out there
I've been playing computer strategy games for a long time, and by now my attitude could be better. I wanted something new, but had drifted away from playing games and nothing seemed to impress anymore. I longed for the days of X Com: UFO Defense and the like, but nothing out there seemed to measure up, including the present day supposed greats. Then Galactic Civilizations II came along and ...

Very fun and engrossing
I've been playing this game for 6 months (since Jan 2008), logging over 300 hours of game-play (which it tracks for you), and it is still my favorite game. Before this game, I played SimCity 4 and CivCity: Rome. (BTW, I also tried SimCity Societies, but I don't even consider that a game, and so you will hear no more mention of it here). The game is more fun than all other city-builder games ...

This expansion is well worth the investment.
This add on is a lot of fun. If you have the original game it is well worth getting this expansion. If you don't have the original game get the deluxe version, it comes with the original game and the expansion. Either way you will love this game. So now you have full control over every part of this game, you can now customize everything. The new scenarios in the game are great, it forces you to ...

Mystery of Shark Island
I found this game hard because of the small pieces and the short time. I finally worked through it but had to repeat some findings several time. If you don't give up easy or have very good eye sight and work fast this is the game. Will play it again to see if I can beat the odds.

Age of Mythology
We have two kids (age 8 and 10) who really like this game. They have other friends their ages that own it and like it also. Despite it's teen rating, we have felt the game was fine for our kids to play, and it familiarizes them with aspects of mythological beings. While there is warring that goes on, it does not involve guns and thus doesn't seem quite as violent as many of the other teen ...
