Stonekeep18 reviews

DOS | Interplay

excellent game
I have to say that I loved this game. You get to fight with many different weapons, you can cast spells, fight all kinds of creatures, and it is long and difficult enough to keep you busy for several months. Very entertaining.

Master Of Orion 2 - Battle at Antares3 reviews

DOS, Windows | MicroProse

The Ultimate 4x Turn-Based Strategy Game
Master of Orion 2 also known as MOO2 is considered the first true 4x turn based strategy game set in space. The game has a kind of cult status and even by to days standards is still only matched in game play by very few of its competitors. Features: Single Player Campaign, Multi-player Option, Hot Seat, 13 Predesigned Alien Races, Explore & Colonize, Manage Resources, Strategic or Tactical ...

Zork Anthology: The 5 Original Text Adventures (PC / Mac)1 review

Macintosh, DOS | Infocom

Zork
Released just after the 1994 Return to Zork, this was a compilation cd of all previous Zork games, including Zork I, Zork II, Zork III, Beyond Zork, Zork Zero and as an added bonus, Planetfall. The games are all interactive fiction text games, with the exception of Zork Zero which does include a few graphics.

Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger2 reviews

DOS | Origin

A Biased View
I am really hesitant to review this game because it is really a classic and beyond the playing experience it has historical value. Produced by Origin, a pioneering Icon in the early gaming industry, with the "Father of the interactive movie" none other than Chris Roberts, this game is a treasure just to own, let alone play it. This game plays as if you're really in a movie and you are the star, ...

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans1 review

DOS | Blizzard

"An Oldie but it's a Goodie"
This game is a full blown dos game yet easy to install with the right tools.. in less than 2 minutes I was playing the game. I installed it on 2 machines; a core 2 duo with Vista x64 home premium and a P-4 prescott single core with hyperthreading and xp professional. I used a dos emulator on both machines called dosbox which downloads for free(just google dosbox) and a front end loader that is ...

Sam & Max Hit the Road4 reviews

Windows | LucasArts

What a riot!
Sam & Max Hit the Road is a laugh riot! I truly laughed out loud many times while playing this computer game. There are too many games out there that contain things you wouldn't want your children to see. Not so with Sam & Max. This is just good, clean fun with unexpected, bizarre (in a fun way) things happening. You never know what strange thing is going to come up next! A wild and weird ...

Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle (DOS)6 reviews

DOS | LucasArts

Maniac Mansion 2
Day of the Tentacle is the sequel to Maniac Mansion, but although based on the same basic premise, is a completely different game. With insane artists that were seemingly taken directly from Warner Bros.' classic Road Runner, combined with the talent of the likes of Ron Gilbert, Day of the Tentacle is more than just a game: it is an insane, surreal adventure with a long and complex story. ...

The Oregon Trail Classic Edition2 reviews

DOS | The Learning Company

Awesome.
ultra-slow, poor graphics. only half your yolk can ever make it over even the teeniest of water crossings. you can debate on hiring young natives to help across the water. you will get dyptheria and dissentary (spelling?) and you will die. when you kill buffaloes, you can only take 20% of the meat. that's what I remember. This game was awesome. It better not be on a floppy disc though.

X-COM: UFO Defense3 reviews

DOS | Microprose

Awesome, but look for the abandonware version!
This game is one of the all time greats, but there's really no need to pay $[...] for it: [...] This site, as well as others I'm sure, will set you up with the same game but titled UFO: Enemy Unknown as it was released in Europe/Australia. The only difference is the name and price (it's free).

The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall2 reviews

DOS | Bethesda Softworks

Ground Breaking!
This game forever changed my ability to play console RPGs. I was one of those people who started with a game called Miracle Warriors on the Sega Master System and then converted to Final Fantasy when the Nintendo and Super Nintendo were released. Imagine creating a character of your choice and then being dropped into a massive fantasy world with no boundaries. This is the element that TES ...

Supermunchers (Super Munchers) By MECC

Windows, DOS, Mac OS 9 and below | MECC

Another rare classic from MECC thats still as popular as the day it was released! From the Makers of Number Munchers, Word Munchers & The Original Oregon Trail, comes SUPERMUNCHERS, a fun trivia game for the entire family! Youll need quick reflexes and plenty of brain power to succeed at this irresistable game. Race your Muncher around the computer board finding as many trivia facts as you can. But be careful! Remember the Troggles from the ...

Descent4 reviews

DOS | Interplay

A Decade Later, Still My Favorite
A little over a decade ago, I picked up Descent. I wasn't a big gamer at the time, prefering Mario games and whatnot. This game quite literally changed my whole outlook on things. The graphics have dated a bit, but are still much better than comparable games from the era. Much prettier and much smoother textures, than... say... DOOM. The gameplay is extremely memorable, and while the ...

The Time Warp of Dr Brain 4 (PC / Mac)3 reviews

DOS | Sierra Originals

One of the Best Games Ever
I love this game i played it when i was 9 years old till i was 13 then my cd broke. I looked for it online and finally found it. It is perfect for any age group from 8 years old till 80 years old. This game challenges the mind in great ways and it is a great way to get your brain thinking

Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom (PC) (DOS)4 reviews

Origin Systems

Alas poor Origin we knew them well.
Some of you kids may not be old enough to remember this but there used to be this little company named Origin who made the best space combat games ever produced. Seriously kids you need to understand how big a 500 MB game was in 1995. This game has three things that are lacking in most modern PC games 1. A plot that makes some kind of sense 2. Challenging missions. While I like ...

Lands Of Lore Guardians Of Destiny (PC CD Boxed)3 reviews

DOS | Westwood

OMG just what I remembered!!!
You have no idea my thrill when I popped those cd's in, and finally started playing!!! I've played it before, and playing it again, I remember it so well. The storyline is fantastic, and the gameplay keeps you guessing, and challenges even the experienced rp gamer. It's a mostly freeform roleplay game which allows you to do things for the most part in your own order, but then again certain ...

Discworld1 review

DOS | Psygnosis

It wasnt as good as I was hoping for
I bought it as a gift for my boyfriend because he loves all things rincewind. We popped it in and found the catchphrases repetitive and annoying and some of the "puzzles" were next to impossible. Overall, not that fun, no matter how much you love discworld.

The Pandora Directive: A Tex Murphy Interactive Movie8 reviews

Windows, DOS | Access

The best of the best -- BUT ...
Let me get to the BUT first: This game was originally released in 1996. That means it will run under Windows 95 or DOS ONLY. You can play it on a new machine, but only if you have a program like DOSbox or the like to simulate DOS. That being said, it's worth whatever you have to go through to get Pandora Device to run on your machine. They didn't make them any better than this, and I hardly ...
