Business returns much improved over last year
I've found the business returns, subchapter S corps and Estates and Trusts, to be much improved over last year. Instructions really helped on some difficult entries. On the other hand, the individual 1040 appeared to be overly cluttered with instructions when using the "whole form/form entry" method. Vista users, well, you have a problem operating system. Beats TurboTax
I used TurboTax for years, until they decided to charge for additional returns. TaxCut does not, and is cheaper. All the prior data from TurboTax was imported into TaxCut. Someone at Intuit was greedy.

Don't Let the Reviews Scare You, Turbotax is Still Great
I was reluctant to buy Turbotax again this year because of all the negative reviews. I decided taking a chance with Turbotax was still more desirable than paying someone to do my taxes for me, though, so I bought it anyway. It worked perfectly. I had no problems loading or using the software. However, I do recommend downloading the updates; they must be there for a reason.

Gets the job done in straight-forward situations
As with all software, the user interface and its workflow has its quirks. Some of it you may find counter-intuitive and not very helpful. But if you have a fairly straight-forward tax situation and you already know what you are supposed to do tax-wise, then this is a convinient alternative to pen/paper and a lot cheaper than going to a specialist when you send in all the rebates.

Had to use Taxact because HR block taxcut wouldn't work on windows 98. Taxact did the job but was not as indepth as taxcut and i'm not sure if i got back all i would have. will have a new computer before next tax season and go with Taxcut.
