Be prepared to spend several hours on self instruction
Relatively tough to navigate until you get the hang of all the various pull down menus. Lots of features for the price, but not all the possible sizes and styles of appliance, cabinets, fixtures, windows, etc that are typically available in hardware stores. So, you will be forced to use "near enoughs" and compromises when preparing your CAD kitchen designs.

Not the greatest software, but better than others
Easy to use for planning layouts but it is a bit buggy. There are several known bugs and the publisher has yet to address them with any kind of update. For simple layouts, this program is fairly intuitive, but for more complex items, there is quite a bit of a learning curve.

FUN!
It was a lot of fun to design many homes with. I love the different views that came with the software. It maybe confusing sometimes, but it is still informational. I recommended it to many of my close friends. The 3-D view mode is fun to use and helpful when designing. Landscaping is a little bit harder, but all in all it's still good.

Okay Product
Got this program to replace my 3-D Home Architect 3.0 which I loved. (I did't love 5.0, which I also had.) It's okay. Does what it's supposed to, but isn't easy to figure out things like stairways, etc. Not sure any of the others are better, but I might try them. (I got this because it got a Bronze Award and was the least expensive. Oh well. As I said, it isn't terrible, but it isn't great.)

This program is counter intuitive, and is very hard to undo. Probably the strangest feature is that it doesn't allow the user to design to a given dimension, the plan has to be adjusted to get as near as possible to the desired dimension. Floorplan Plus 3D - Great software but very dated
This software package has some great features and is very easy and fast to use. Its best feature for my money is the ability to design and save your own objects. If you design a plan, then rescale it, all the objects in it (including those you built yourself) are automatically rescaled to fit (unlike some other business drawing programs like SmartDraw).
