Starlancer23 reviews

Windows | Microsoft

Loved it, still love it, still playing it!
I fell in love with this game when it first came out years ago. And there aren't, or weren't, many Microsoft games I could easily say that about. Yeah... it's not the greatest space combat sim ever, but it's well worth the play and I have enjoyed it over and over again. If you don't know much about the game, think Space: Above and Beyond. If you didn't watch that TV show from the mid-90's it's ...

Freelancer
Awesome game. Plenty of play time after the main plot is completed. Visit a ton of planets in many systems. Try trading with a freighter if you get bored with just shooting everyone in a starfighter. The cut scenes in the bars & other interactive places get boring, but just hit 'escape' to run through them. Again,.... great game & loads of fun for the money

Descent: Freespace: The Great War2 reviews

Great War...GREAT GAME
I have had this game since the 90's and had to replace the discs. This is one of the best space war sims ever made.

Homeworld 2123 reviews

Windows | Vivendi Universal, 2003

gorgeous sequel
The music is inferior to the first... the graphics and explosions are still amazing years later... the bone chilling groan of a ruptured capital ship brings these metallic ships to life. certainly a must play, just like the original.

First of its kind and well worth the praise
This is a 3D RTS game and as such will require a lot of getting used to. I am a very spatial person so the interface was very intuitive, but for others, it might take a long time to understand and master or never at all. The story is original and gripping. The music is enchanting and after 8 years I still go back and listen to it. The races that you'll encounter are just incredible. It is like ...

Descent 3: Mercenary (Jewel Case)5 reviews

Windows | Interplay, 2004

Awesome
The title of this listing might say Descent 3: Mercenary, but you will actually get both Descent 3 and Descent 3: Mercenary expansion (if you get it directly from Amazon.com, that is). The item picture is correct. Plus, the game itself is lots of fun, and a worthy addition to your collection. :)

Space Force: Rogue Universe8 reviews

Windows | Dreamcatcher Interactive, 2007

Great Game!
This game is quite enjoyable if you like the idea of being dropped into a universe with 40+ huge sectors that you can explore. I've played so far for 20+ hours as a trader. The RPG aspects are great as you pick and choose the areas of your ship you wish to level up, such as shield, speed, jammer, cargo space, etc. Also depending upon your occupation you can have up to 3 wingmen which allows you ...

DarkStar One (DVD-Rom)24 reviews

Windows | CDV Software, 2006

Great Space Game!!!!
I read through alot of reviews. Alot of them bad with comments on software issues. They ranged from wont run on Vista to widescreen monitors cause the game to constantly crash. I almost didn't buy it but I did. Figured I waste money on worse things and all I have to say is I am glad I did give it a try. The version I recieved was already the newer patched 1.3 version. I run it on Vista ...

X3: The Reunion 2.013 reviews

Windows | Enlight, 2006

This series is getting better...
I started playing this kind of game with Elite on the C64. That game was always the one to measure the others by. Unfortunately I've never had as much fun as I once did with that old game. Sure, everything aspect of gameplay has moved on but it never quite worked well enough for me to get into the game like I once did. The X series has certainly been the leader and this latest version, the ...

Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos19 reviews

Windows | Atari, 2001

Underrated game
Rarely do you find a game these days that has the two qualities that make a great game. Graphics and gameplay. Far too aften it's one or the other. These days the plot usually has to suffer because developers spend way too much time trying to visually impress the gamer. This is not the case in I-War 2. From the main menu interface, the music, just the presentation in general upon first ...

Freespace / Silent Threat Bundle (Jewel Case)10 reviews

Windows | Interplay Productions

The Ultimate Space Fighter Game
I bought this game at Wal-Mart and I took it home and I was blown away by the details and realisim. I was happy that the game was based off of the Pentium 133 megahertz chip since that is what is in my system. Back to the game, The Great War DISKS! were the best games I ever played for PC. You start out as a fresh piliot and your first missions are traineing, so you get used to the controls. ...

Tarr Chronicles2 reviews

Windows | CDV Software, 2007

Good space sim but...
This is my first review for anything, so here we go. Overall I am enjoying this game. The graphics are excellent but not ground breaking by any means. Rarely does Tarr crash but not enough for me to want to throw the game out the window. I like being able to customize my ship and having different ships to choose from, such as a whole array of weapons, shields, engines, armor types and even ...

Independence War5 reviews

Windows | Atari

The best space combat sim to date
This is the best space combat sim todate, that is if you're looking for a realistic one... if you're addicted to games like x-wing or tie fighter , then this will either be a nice change of pace or a fustrating piece of crap... it uses actual physics in it's flight model. to turn, you actually have to fire thrusters to change your direction. Also, your ship ins't a sleek litle fighter, it's ...

Freespace 2: Sci-Fi Sim of the Year34 reviews

Windows | Interplay, 2000

The best space combat game ever created by human hands!
This game will check the meaning of the word "game" for you. 1.) Deep, well-writen sci-fi plot. 2.) Incedibly dog-fighting action 3.) Capital ships have huge beam cannons that can punch right through hostile ships (awe-inspiring). Bottom line here, the graphics rock! 4.)Dozens of user-made campaigns online. Done with the main campaign? Go download some more. 5.) Amazing battles ...

One of the Best
I still have this computer game to this day. This is honestly one of the best computer games I have ever played. I really loved the introduction of beam weapons in the game. The graphics are beautiful, the sound is great, and the voice acting is awesome. Highly Recommended!

this game is very strategetic and exciting you dont know whats going to happen. I love this game soooo much I play it almost every week when I dont have to study for any tests.I am addicted to this game that whenever I dont get a medal for each mission i play the mission over until i get a medal.I know that this has lots of violence and fighting against aliens or some odd mechanical robots and ...

Descent: Freespace Battle Pack5 reviews

Windows | Interplay Productions

Freespace is one excellent game.
I never liked the Star Wars games too much (although I still love the movies). Nor did I enjoy the Wing Commander series. I was into first person shooters (Quake and the like) until I played Descent: FreeSpace Battle Pack. Now I don't even bother with Quake, or even Half-Life, anymore... FreeSpace is Volition's and Interplay's first space combat simulation game and it is the bomb. The game ...

Independence War Deluxe Edition3 reviews

This IS one of the best and cheapest Sci-Fi Sims anywhere
When I first bought this game I didn't know what to expect for the 20$ dollars I paid at best buy. But as soon as it was installed on my computer it was obvious that this was a good game. From the 14 minute opening video to the last action intense missions this game is great. Even after beating the original 40 mission game you get the new 18 mission Indie campaign which features a cool ...
