Rosetta Stone Version 3: Spanish (Latin America) Level 1, 2 & 3 Set with Audio Companion1 review

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2008

Title misleading
There is not such a thing as "Latin American Spanish". Period. The differences between Spanish spoken in any Latin American countries are in any case as large or as small as the differences between let's say "Castillian" Spanish and any one of those countries.

LEARNING COMPANY The Oregon Trail, 5th Edition ( Windows/Macintosh )38 reviews

Macintosh, Windows | Learning Company

Fun for the kids and my husband :)
The kids love playing it at the public library so when I got it for our home they were excited. They love playing it and my husband does too. It teaches them strategy, economics, budgeting and alot more without "gory violence" like in video games.

Rosetta Stone V3: Spanish (Latin America), Level 1 & 220 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

Slow and Steady
I have tried almost every single product on the market to help me learn a second language and nothing really worked. Rosetta Stone V3 is so far the best product I have tried. I am not speaking fluent Spanish yet and if you're in a huge rush this might not be for you. However, I am making slow and steady progress in the right direction and enjoying the process. I love the way the program is ...

Rosetta Stone V3: French, Level 110 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

The Best Software Tool For Building Spoken Fluency
Rosetta Stone products are expensive, far more expensive than most of the language learning tools you'll find on Amazon or in a bookstore. But Rosetta Stone is well worth the price. Without a true immersion experience (visiting a foreign nation or cloistering yourself at a very expensive university program like Middlebury's where you must pledge to speak only the language you're trying to ...

Rosetta Stone V3: Spanish (Latin America), Level 126 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

Excellent!
I'm mainly writing this to give an alternative to some of the other reviews I've read. First, I'm 60 years old, and using an Imac and a PowerBook g4. I had no trouble installing this on either machine. I have a simple set-up, just a home network, so maybe that's why, but it was no trouble. It is not a "mac-like" interface, but it's also no trouble to use. I understood it from the get-go. I ...

Rosetta Stone V3: Spanish (Latin America), Level 1, 2 & 347 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

Great Addition to School Learned Spanish
I took 17 hours of Spanish during my undergraduate degree, but could not speak Spanish. I could read Spanish, but I could not understand it when spoken. Rosetta Stone takes a different approach to teaching Spanish than my university. It has made understanding and speaking Spanish within my reach. I had a strong vocabulary base, but Rosetta Stone has helped me to be able to speak and use this ...

Rosetta Stone V3: French, Level 1, 2 & 3
I had an extensive previous knowledge of French but had not used it in many years. I plan to travel to France this summer. I have found using Rosetta Stone quite enjoyable. I am about half way through level 2 and about 95% has been review. The method of instruction is excellent as it involves hearing, speaking, seeing and writing. The voice recognition software is very good. After ...

Reader Rabbit I Can Read With Phonics 1st and 2nd Grade10 reviews

Macintosh, Windows | The Learning Company, 2001

works fine on XP
Another reviewer here claims that I can Read With Phonics does not install easily on Microsoft Windows XP. NOT TRUE! I have XP and every Reader Rabbit game works perfectly on it. I own just about everyone out there, and my son (age 5) is a great fan of the reader rabbit software. This game does an excellent job of teaching reading and phonics in a fun way. If you have a child ready to learn ...

Rosetta Stone V3: Italian, Level 13 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

Excellent software to learn the language
This was my big Christmas gift this year and I noticed that the rating of it is only 2 stars, primarily because it does not allow the user to copy it and install it in a variety of PCs or to share with friends. Fair enough... but what about the program as a way to learn the language? 1) The most important element for me is that the immersion method is a fun way to learn; instead of being given ...

Rosetta Stone V3: German, Level 18 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

RosettaStone Deutche V3 Level 1
I received the RosettaStone Deutche Level 1 a few weeks ago and have begun the lessons. It is easy and fast, allowing me to progress at my own pace. Learning is made simple with video/picture and audio feedback---much better than strictly textbook instruction. I am especially impressed with the spoken lessons that teach me correct pronunciation of difficult sounds and gives me feedback when I ...

Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Student and Teacher [OLD VERSION]203 reviews

Macintosh | Microsoft Software, 2004

Can't live without this!
After getting my new MAC laptop for student and Mac computer for office, found that I could not communicate with business world with attachments for e-mails as well as the fact that the Professors would only accept homework in a word format. So I went to PC magazine did investigations there for the Microsoft Office 2008 and found many big problems MAC users were having with 2008 version. Went ...

Zoombinis 3 Game Pack - Island Odyssey, Logical Journey, Mountain Rescue6 reviews

Macintosh, Windows | Learning Company

happy memories
I started playing the first version of Logical Journey of the Zoombinis (written for Windows 98 or 2000) when I was eight or so and loved it. Ten years later, I still think these games are excellent. These are the new version of Zoombinis (made by the Learning Company - the earlier version was from Broderbund) and so should run problem-free on modern computers. My Broderbund originals don't ...

Windows, Mac OS X, Mac OS 9 and below | The Learning Company

Oregon Trail Computer Game
As a former Oregon teacher, I used this game many times over the years. It was so much fun for the students, they didn't realize that they were gaining critical thinking skills and learning about pioneer life. Now I have given it to my grandchildren and they are enjoying the challenge of getting to the end of the trail. My 10 yr. old granddaughter just called to tell me she was doing great ...

Rosetta Stone V3: French, Level 1 & 211 reviews

Windows, Mac OS X | Rosetta Stone, 2007

best self-study product
I bought French Level 1&2, and I went through Level 1 so far. For someone like me, with zero background in French and no time for going to language classes, the software does a very good job. If you have realistic expectations and don't think you should be fluent in French after Level 1, the progress is truly amazing. I like the combination of audio, visual aids, spelling and pronunciation ...

Reader Rabbit Learn to Read With Phonics36 reviews

Macintosh, Windows | The Learning Company, 2001

4 year old loves it!
My four YO grandson tried this out for the first time last night. His words "I LOVE my new game!" I was impressed with how easy he was pulled into the activities and the sense of acomplishment he had when matching sounds to letters and listening to the sounds and matching to words. The L sound is weird though. Doesnt sound right but for everything else it is great.
