Easy to use software, but connecting with your bank can be complicated - but that's not quicken's fault
As this is only the "starter version" one could not merely export the data from the website in Quicken format and then import it into Quicken. If your online bank does not put the data into this Quicken's 2008 format it will not import it. The perfect tool!
Quicken 2008 Premier is exactly what I needed. Because I decided to cut up all of my credit cards and use cash or a debit card, it's important that I keep track of my spending so I don't run out of money before payday. Now I can just download information from my credit union directly into Quicken and I don't have to remember to save receipts. I love it!

Pain in the rear to get started. Need accounting background...
I have a small photography business and use this to keep books. Takes some serious effort to get started and the help files are worthless for understanding how to set things up. Get a good book on accounting and you should be okay. CONCLUSION: Takes some work but is an okay solution.

Solid product for my uses
I've used Quicken since 1993. I just upgraded from Quicken 2003 for Mac to Quicken 2008 Deluxe for Windows XP Home Edition, and have had absolutely none of the operational problems mentioned in other reviews. Wonderful program
I'm not sure why others have problems with this program. I think it's really wonderful. It's fast and easy to use. I have Windows Vista home premium but my machine isn't a powerhouse. The book gives a great reference for starting an independent paralegal business with examples of what should and should not be done in the business world. There is much focus on California, but much of the information can be used in other eaaster and mid-western states for setting up a business.
