Good General Purpose upholstery staple
These staples work well in the US58, feeding with no problems. These staples are good general purpose upholstery-attaching staples. Application examples include attaching fabric to pine or plywood frames. You may want to avoid using this staple in applications where you are attaching fabric to very densely grained woods or very thin plywood.

They Nailed It!

Woo-hoo! Nails! I'm hardly a connoisseur of fasteners, but these nails worked just fine for me when I was nailing down deck boards. I don't recall any mis-fires that were caused by the nails (they were all my fault). These staples work well in the US58, feeding with no problems. These very small staples are meant for attaching upholstery to hardwoods or very thin plywood. Even in these applications they may prove to be too short if you are using thick fabric or a backing.

Using these nails together with Bostich siding nailer (similar to roofing gut but it uses these siding nails instead) We are restoring homes in Biloxi, Ms that were destroyed by hurricane Katrina. We are using Hardi plank and trim and Hardi panel on the exterior of the homes and this gun and nails makes easy work of it.

I have used break-away pins prior to the purchase of my Porter Cable pneumatic pinner, and will likely never go back. I do have to say though, that using pins as long as the 1", make sure that you have at least 100lbs psi to work with. If not, the heads will not completely recess, at least into 3/4" red oak.
