Great gift book for girls and boys of wide range of ages
My 3 year old daughter received this book as a gift from grandma, and I have since purchased multiple copies of this book and the Swing! book (companion book with sports theme) and have given it as a gift to children from infancy to age 3. It is very cool. Yes, the text leaves a lot to be desired, but it makes up for it with the pictures. I highly recommend both books. The cards, which are ...

Cute and Fun
We've had this book on our changing table to entertain our daughter practically since she came home from the hospital. Now, at a little over two months, she has learned how to move some of the buttons to get it to play music (she can do the star and the baby, and occasionally the barn door) on her own. It is a good distraction for her while we're changing her. When she gets a little older, I'm ...

Awesome
I bought this toy for my daughter's first birthday. She opened it and instantly wanted it out of the box to play with. She's a big fan of books and anything that plays music, so the two together are a big hit. She absolutely loves this toy! The educational number/alphabet/color buttons are ones she doesn't quite understand yet, but it'll come eventually.

My daughter's favourite book
We didn't have Dr. Seuss where I grew up so I don't have any misplaced emotional attachment to the "original"; for my daughter this will be the original. I love this little book and so does my daughter. When we start reading it she jumps up and down and laughs and claps her hands, we make it interactive with toys like a stuffed pig and a clown doll, yawning for night time, juggling on the "well ...

Great for babies
My son loved this toy as a baby (he got it at just a few months old). The music isn't too bad, and he liked the lights. He stopped playing with it, however, a bit after he turned a year old. By then, we had gotten plenty of use out of it, so I don't feel it was a waste of money. The sound quality does seem to deteriorate with time and the spin button sticks after a lot of use. I would ...

Buy this book in hardcover, not as a board book!
We got a couple of books in the Dinosaurs series as board books from my coworker, and overall my daughter (22 months at the time of this review) liked them, but the hardcovers are simply gorgeous with large, detailed and brilliant pictures. I got this book in the library, and Anna wanted to read it several times in a row (not to mention every night since then). I plan to assemble the whole series ...

Introducing animals and their sounds
I bought this book together with "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" a couple of days ago, and my 3y.o. kid loves them both. My son helps me read out loud and is learning complicated words like "boa constrictor". It's very simple and great for introducing new animals and new words (such as "roaring" or "hissing"), we have a lot of fun reading it together every day.

great for preschoolers
My daughter has been thrilled with this game. It works together well with the rhyme she's almost obsessed with. Takes a while for someone to win, but keeps the kids entertained the whole time. My daughter just laughs and laughs when the monkeys fall off the bed. Even her grandpa played this game with her and enjoyed it. The best thing is that it has very simple rules that she doesn't mind ...

Brown Bear's back!
I remember reading this charming story to my own kids and also to my preschool class. Now it's been reissued in board book format, artistically illustrated, and every bit as enjoyable. This is a perfect book for teaching color and animal names, in a catchy rhyming format. Each page foretells what the animal and color will be on the next. Recommended for reading to babies and for beginning ...

Delightful
Just a delightful book. I remember reading this during library time when I was little, so I had fond memories of reading the playful words and looking at the fanciful illustrations. You'll enjoy the book if you like fun rhyming that doesn't necessarily use "perfect" words but creates an enjoyable experience for your child anyway. Although another reviewer gave this book one star because it ...

Lovely to sing to your baby
My daughter loved this book as a baby. We had it out of the library so many times, I bought it when she was 10 months old. Her 3 year old brother and I both learnt it by heart from singing it to her every night. She still really likes it at 21 months old, though now we don't read it every night. I love the illustrations that show the real movement of the baby up and down, round and round, and of ...

Absolutely Wonderful
My 2-yr-old is so in love with this book. She is fascinated by the simple story and also by the great illustrations. It is one of her must-read bedtime books. It is indeed a "feeling good book", however I think it is only appropriate for children under 4-yrs.

Kids love it.
My 17 month old son loves this book. Today when I went to pick him up from day care, he was holding this book, sat down and started "reading" it. He shook his finger in the air and said "no no monkey bed." All the other kids in the class saw what he was doing and they too (other 17 month olds) started shaking their fingers in the air saying "no no" and tapping their heads (for "bumped his ...

Good for struggling early reader
My sons are twins and one is a strong reader. The other twin feels that he is not a strong reader but this book has helped to increase his confidence. It helps that there is a variety of difficulty levels in the short plays and also that we can each take different roles. Also the reading is only a few sentences at a time so it's a good way for an early reader to get started.

Delightful
This is a delight for kids and adults. It's fun to read out loud, with goofy creature names like yottle, nooth grush and quimney. I've read it many times to my two kids without getting tired of it. The artwork is fun and playful. What else would you expect from Dr. Seuss?
