This is a wonderful TOY for kids. My six year old loves it. If you're looking for an AI dog, then I suggest you look elsewhere. This is a toy not an AI robot. If you are planing to give this toy as a gift, then open the package first and place it in a different box. It took me 20 minutes and I had to destroy the packaging doing it.

great robot
my god-son loves this toy. It was hard for us to read instruction, but he remembered how to operate this robot through video that was posted on wired website. He started program the robot as soon as he got it. I am amazed about 11 years old kid's brain. If this toy comes with AC adapter, chargeable power system instead of using 6 AA, that would be more likable.

This "pet" is a good choice for children who can't have real pets. It teaches them about the needs of a real dog, petting, feeding, playing with, and bathing (simulated without water), while eliminating the "housebreaking" needed for a real dog ;-)

For 50 bucks, its worth it ...but getting it out of the box is NUTS!

Enjoyable and useful robot
This robot has gotten an unfair rap by some. It has, as Captain Dials, said enless hours of information. It is hugely interactive, more then any other robot out there. Yes the voice recognition is poor but the blackberry type communicator is literally like chatting with someone.
