I Spy Eagle Eye8 reviews

Briar Patch

Briar Patch, 2006

Fun Game!
In this game you pick a card and must find one of the pictures on your own game board that is on the card. We came together as a family and played this game. I have to admit that I thought it would be simple to find a picture, but it wasn't. The race was on as each of us scanned our boards. Definitely the younger ones with sharper eyes did a lot better than the 'older' ones playing..yes, I was ...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)2658 reviews
J.K. Rowling

Arthur A. Levine Books, 1999

Excellent
"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" starts out with Harry Potter, back at the Dursleys' for summer break. The Durseleys have not changed and are still not nice to Harry. Then, a flying ford filled with Weasleys shows up and Harry is off to visit with the Weasleys utill school starts. The author manages to change the story line quite a bit from the first HP book and we are immersed in ...

LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game: Scholastic Get Puzzled13 reviews

LeapFrog

LeapFrog, 2007

Best Leapster Game
This is hands down the best Leapster game. We have about 12 or so of them. Our 6 yo has plowed through all of the puzzles, but still enjoys going back. Our soon to be 3 yo twin girls fell in love with this recently. I am buying a second one because they both want to play it so much. There is a really nice range to the complexity of the games. Monster Maker (and the easier critter ...

How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?128 reviews
Jane Yolen

Blue Sky Press, 2000

Buy this book in hardcover, not as a board book!
We got a couple of books in the Dinosaurs series as board books from my coworker, and overall my daughter (22 months at the time of this review) liked them, but the hardcovers are simply gorgeous with large, detailed and brilliant pictures. I got this book in the library, and Anna wanted to read it several times in a row (not to mention every night since then). I plan to assemble the whole series ...

Small school
I purchased a number of dictionaries to be used by all the students in a small school. The entries included pronunciation, syllabication, and multiple definitions. They are visually pleasing and thorough enough for third and fourth graders.

great book!
My 5yr old son is a huge fan of Magic School Bus series. Especially, Solat system and human body are his favorite among them. He memorizes the order of all the plantes in the Solar system. Draw pictures about it and make planets with playdough. Great book!

Bob Books Set 4- Compound Words9 reviews
Bobby Lynn Maslen

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2006

Great Head Start!
I love these Bob books. I bought sets 1-5. My boys are still on the first box and they are cruising right through. Kindergarten and first grade. It is GREAT to find a set that introduces new word families and then reinforces them. You won't be disappointed. The drawings are so simple but my kids really do relate.

LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game: Scholastic Math Missions8 reviews

LeapFrog

LeapFrog

Great learning game..and fun!
We use this game along with the leapster TV. My daughter started using it at age 5, and she's now 6 and this is still her favorite game to play. When she was 5, she needed a little help with some of the math...I expected that since the game is rated ages 6-9. But, she is now finishing kindergarten and can play the games on her own. She loves playing the math games and "earning" money that ...

Esperanza Rising313 reviews
Pam Munoz Ryan

Blue Sky Press, 2002

Reads almost like a song
I did not expect this book to amaze me as much as it did. Maybe it's the fact that this is based on the true story of the author's grandmother, but this book is written with such heart and love it will set you weeping. At the same time, it's beautiful, touching, and rich in inspiration and the human spirit. Esperanza is a girl who lives the life of a princess in Mexico. However, the fairy tale ...

100 Write-And-Learn Sight Word Practice Pages: Engaging Reproducible Activity Pages That Help Kids Recognize, ...7 reviews

Instructor Books, 2002

My daughter loves it
I was amazed to see the bad reviews. Is this workbook more fun than Nintendo? UMMM, no, it is a workbook. I use it to reinforce what we have been learning in other more visually stimulating books. Do look at the pages and notice that the student gets to cut out the letters of the word and paste them for one of the activities. She LOVES that and it gives her practice with her motor skills. ...

The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body (Magic School Bus)10 reviews
Joanna Cole

Scholastic Press, 1990

packed with information
Ms. Frizzle is taking her class on a memorable field trip through the human body in this entertaining book featuring the beloved eccentric teacher and her curious class. My only complaint is that the pages are so busy with information that it's impossible to sit and really read the whole book, but perhaps it's best to let a child's curiosity guide you through a number of readings rather than ...

A Favorite
I bought this for my seven year old daughter for Christmas and it became a favorite. The game lists items to be found in the following picture and then you can scroll around the picture to find them. She has always enjoyed the I Spy books so I thought this may be a fun item for her. Very good purchase!
