Nice buy for little kid around age 1+
I bought this for my daughter and she loved it at the first time she saw. The colors are bright and attractive. The shapes are just right for them to hold on their hands. This is more educative than other small toys such as cars or dolls.

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Baby's First Blocks13 reviews

Fisher Price

Fisher Price, 2007

Love it!
Sometimes I yearn for more basic simple toys such as this one. Not everything has to light up and make noise to be fun. My son loves this and carries it around by the handle all day sometimes. when he isn't shape sorting he is using it to lug his toys around the house. It is definitely durable (it would have to be to still be in one piece after my son got his hands on it).

Great toy
My son is 7 months old, and he loves this toy. He plays with the individual shapes while he waits for dinner in his high chair. He also enjoys shaking the ball and hearing the shapes rattle around inside. Since it's designed to grow with a child, it won't be long before he'll be able to put the shapes in the ball.

Great toy
This is a great shape sorter. I didn't have the previous one, but my daughter did have three other ones and I liked this one the best. You can play with the animals as well as sort the shapes they are standing in and the letters are also for sorting as well as practicing your abcs. It doesn't come with any talking or music-which I happen to really like. It has a little clock on the side and ...

very entertaining
My five year old loves this. If you have a girl who is really into fashion, she will too. It is very portable too so great for throwing in a bag and keeping a young girl entertained while you are out and about. Only negatives are that sometimes the cards stick in the machine and I wish you could buy additional packs of cards for more fashions. Overall, though, I still highly recommend the ...

5 star toy
Don't ask me why, but this was one of our little one's absolute hands-down favorite toys from about 9 mo. through 3 1/2 yr. Must tickle something in the brain. Makes sounds when you put the cookies inside or take them out. Teaches cause and effect. I recommend this toy!

Great toy!
My 9 month old loves this toy! She may not like trying to get the shapes in yet, but she loves to spin the sorter and turn the tail. She likes for me to put the shapes in and watch them spill out...

So far so good...
We've only had this toy for a week, but we love it so far. My son is only 9 months old, and he can't put the shapes in yet, but he loves releasing the toys and I'm sure will grow into enjoying all the aspects of the toy.

My daughters favorite toy!!!
This is my 10 month old's daughters favorite toy. She studies it very hard to figure how to put the shapes into the sorter. She had even started putting the shapes in without any help. She will play with this toy for a good 30 minutes before getting bored with it. That is a lot longer than any of her other toys. LOVE LOVE LOVE this toy!

absolutely fun for baby!
My SIL and I (and our babies) fell in love with this toy when we saw it in the church's nursery. Unfortunately we couldn't find it anywhere. After much searching on the internet I finally found it in England and ended up paying $80 (mainly in shipping) for 2 of these. As soon as I opened the package my daughter had a ball with it! She loves pounding on the piano keys or pushing the buckets to ...

Great for older babies
I love this toy, but my daughter (9 months old) is not quite ready for it yet. She plays with the pieces (the triangle, square, etc.), but she can't yet figure out how to put the pieces into the box. I love how soft the whole toy is though and I know that she will enjoy learning the shapes and colors once she is a bit older.

Great toy to bring along
This set of blocks is great on many levels. 1. The blocks are soft so if thrown do not injure other kids. 2. The blocks have different fabric textures. 3. The teething inserts are a great size and easy for little hands to grab. 4. The rattle inserts are fun for shaking and easy to hold. 5. The blocks have ABC's and Numbers printed on the side for educational purposes. 6. The blocks fit in a ...

Fun for a 13 month old
My son received this for Christmas and has been entertained with it for the past 2 months. He did have one incident the very first day he got it when he got his fingers pinched with the middle part, but that has not happened since then. We spent some time showing him how the toy is suppose to work, so he will sit and attempt to do it on his own. He does hold the hammer, but never actually uses ...

a long time in growing old
This shape sorter is brilliantly conceived. Though intended for babies, its play potential continues well into the preschool years. I highly recommend it for every nursery. * Charming design. The cheerful yellow-roofed plush house in which shapes are sorted and stored calls many warm and whimsical associations to mind. * Cleanup and portability. All the birds fit easily into the ...

Plan Toy Shape and Sort It Out3 reviews

Plan Toys

Plan Toys, 2006

Colorful, Quality Toy
I chose to buy this shape sorter for my 12 month old because it is solid wood and the shapes only fit through their own holes. This is important, because MANY shape sorters have more shapes, but they will frequently fit through more than one shape hole. This toy good for Montessori-style learning, because it has the natural control of error. This toy is simple, but good quality, and my ...

Outstanding toy
This is a really great preschool toy. I bought one for my two year old and he really loves it. He will spend a whole hour playing with it. The chunky pieces and pegs are great for little hands, and the bright primary colors and variety of shapes are great for learning. The pieces also work well for making a color shape matrix to go along with my kindergartner's math. This toy was a wonderful ...
