I love this toy!
I purchased this for my 6 month old. Hes a little young so I keep the smaller blocks and the base away from him to keep from injury. But its great to watch him grab each piece from the stack and try to put it back.

Best for baby punishing
I love this rattle. The very creepy design of the crab is great for frightening my baby when she acts up, also the words on the toy make for added confusion on account of the fact that my baby can't read.

Great for learning patience and fine motor skills
My son was three when we purchased this and as long as I got him started and came by to look at each completed picture, he would keep himself busy getting all the pieces in "just the right spot" while I cooked, cleaned...etc. The boards are two-sided. We keep the pieces in a ziploc bag.

Nice buy for little kid around age 1+
I bought this for my daughter and she loved it at the first time she saw. The colors are bright and attractive. The shapes are just right for them to hold on their hands. This is more educative than other small toys such as cars or dolls.

Beats Electronic Toys Hands Down or Up
This is a great teaching toy. Wooden toys like this beat electronic gadgets every time. With a gizmo you assume, or hope it will talk to your child and teach them how to tell time. But we have quite a few of those gizmos and my kids don't play with them a quarter of the time they play with this. Yes, I noticed that the pentagon and the hexagon are reversed in numeric value, but so what. It took ...

I Love The Rainforest Creatures
I bought this for my 4 month old. She would rather try to eat the hard giraffe instead of the soft rings. She knows what she has to do with the rings but can't quite get the grasp of it yet. I would definitely suggest buying this toy. It's really cute and educational.

Simple idea--Big fun
My 2 year old received this over a year ago. In the beginning, it got lost under the electronic, attention-grabbing toys. However, it later emerged and he became facinated with matching the shapes to the holes. He has now learned that there are many alternate options (e.g. two trianges can make a square, two squares can make a rectangle, etc.). He and his little sister also like to stack the ...

He likes it!
My nine month old son likes this toy. The lid doesn't snap on so its easy for him to have fun without getting frustrated. Perhaps when he is older he will play with it more the way its intended. But for now, he is just having fun, which means he is happy and distracted from trying to grab buttons and other things inappropriate for babies.

Goodnight Moon
This is one of the all time favorites to add to your children's library. It is an especially great selection to read to children at bedtime. A wonderful selection for children having difficulty going to sleep at night.

Now THIS is a TOY!
Great toy- my four month old cannot take her eyes off of it! When she is having tummy time she keeps reaching for the balls and when she is sitting in my lap she loves to reach for the elephant's trunk and grab the pieces! I wish I had had this for my son- perfect toy for content play time. No frustrations from the baby, no obnoxious noises for this mommy- soft, happy music and we are both good ...

He LOVES his Whoozit!
This is one of my baby's favorite toys. When he was newborn he liked to stare at all the patterns, colors and contrasting shapes. Now that he is 8 months he still loves it. It is easy for him to hold and he loves to chew on the little dangling pieces. It has helped with teething. This is a must have toy for baby!

Fun, Educational, Well Made Wooden Toy.
Another great product from Melissa and Doug. As with all their wooden toys this is extremely well made. It is bright and colourful, and has a number of different educational aspects; Colours, shapes, numbers and also learning to put small objects on a thin shape. I am very impressed with this and although at this age (14 months) my little guy is only really putting the things on randomly I am ...

Melissa and Doug Farm Sound Puzzle19 reviews

Melissa and Doug

Melissa and Doug, 2006

Farm Sound Puzzle
This is one of my favorite puzzles. I do developmental therapies for children birth-3 and this puzzle is wonderful. The animal sounds made when the puzzle piece is correctly placed in the space encourage language development (children often will repeat/say animal sounds before words). Matching skills, labeling, and eye-hand coordination are also practiced. The puzzle is very sturdy. It would ...

It kept a super-active toddler's interest!
My daughter is 2 and is amazingly active. She is rarely interested in anything for more than a couple of minutes, tops. The first time she played with this, she was engrossed for over an hour, and then went back to play with it some more about 3 other times in the same day. This has truly never happened before! It has really improved her fine motor skills as well as her pattern recognition. ...

an improvement on the classic
My daughter's daycare has this toy (I think thye usually use it without the batteries...). At 13 months, it is simple for her to stack the rings. I believe this toy is more developmentally appropriate for this age than the toy that I grew up with (just like what we have at home), which Fisher Price calls Rock-A-Stack. On the Rock-A-Stack, the pole is slanted, so the rings have to go on in a ...

Cupcake Fun!
My 3.5 year old has not stopped playing with the cupcakes since we opened the package. My two year old and one year old are enjoying them too. It offers color sorting, shape identification, and counting for educational stimulation. Plus, there's the fun of making cupcakes over and over. Would highly recommend.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy9 reviews

Melissa and Doug

Melissa and Doug, 2008

Bug Jug Fill & spill
Do Melissa and Doug ever strike out??? Not this time!!! Since I work with developmentally delayed babies and toddlers, I've found this a great toy for the child who likes dump and fill, but would benefit from experience using both hands in a coordinated effort. The cute jug must be held with one hand while the other goes into the jug and pulls out the bug. It takes problem solving and digit ...
